Does iRacing and GT6 count? If so, it's all about Suzuka.

Without a doubt, Spa.. but in North America I'd say Road America.

Road America is iconic. It is old and has history like WSIR, but the history is even more unique in that it was originally a street course in the 1950s. The facility, while much of it older, is quite good. Great food all around the track. The place is huge. The greenery and trees make it beautiful. It has paved paddock and ample paved roads in the infield area to get around.

The track is fast. Scary fast in places. Coming into Turn Five at 150 plus depending on the car to a downhill brake zone and a 45 mile per hour turn will get your attention in heavy traffic. They have four freeway style cement barriers blocking the run-out area of Turn Five from the paddock. How did they come up with that number of four rows? I suppose three is not enough....

Perhaps my favorite segment of the track is the Carousel around to The Kink (it will make you pucker with or without wet grass) into Canada corner and up through Turn 13. That whole section is down low in a heavily tree lined valley called The Kettle Moraine I think. Twice down there I have hit birds for some reason. When it is raining and you drive through that meandering track segment at 120 MPH plus with the little areas where the water runs across the track, well it is 110% attention.

The fields there always seem large and the racing good.

Here is the start of one of my races in 2010. Go to the 30 second mark for a very spectacular race start:

Ouch, that was a hell of a wreck at the start!

Here's my in-car from a test a few months ago:

Lots of fun with a bit of downforce! Kink was in 6th gear...

I'm convinced. Next year I'm going to Road America.

I was shooting at Road America this summer. It's an enormous track. Lots of interesting corners, a great facility and a lot of natural beauty. Great corner workers, too.

Mosport- My favorite for the elevation changes and scary corners, my all time favorite before they changed it was the old Road Atlanta, before the chicane complex at the end of the straight. It used to feel like you were driving through a garage at well over 100 mph the old way.....

My vote is still with Laguna Seca. An easy track to drive, a hard track to drive at the limit.

This is pretty great footage. I think it's from the 12 hour last year, not long before the GTR went out in a huge crash unfortunately.

And then of course in addition to the elevation you get this.

I have not really gotten around much, but I would also mention Mosport. Big, fast, elevation, and fairly easy on the car provided you don't wall it (which is possible at essentially any stage of any corner).

The two tracks that I enjoyed the most were: 1) Road America, 2) Daytona.
