    Default New tow beast

I went down to Corona today to check out a new tow vehicle. It was clean enough, so I bought it.

It's the same year as the GMC half ton I already own. So, I upgraded from my old truck to a new old truck, albeit one with a Duramax diesel and Allison five-speed transmission. It's got 50,000 miles, and it's clean, but I'll be having the inside detailed and all the moldings and emblems removed.

Look for a clean and well-maintained GMC half ton crew cab on the market soon.

What year? I have a '06 with 85k on it, great truck and awesome to pull with. Only issues I've had is one injector went bad and two glow plugs.

It looks like pre-face lift 06 or older.
None of the B.S DEF crap.
I bought mine in 06 brand new and have 23k miles, running like a champ.
Only problem was the fuel prime pump leaking after 20k miles and 8 yrs.
    Those LBZ last forever.

Since Brett has chimed in yet, both of his trucks are '05s. The facelift happened mid-'07.

I'm hoping it's the last truck I ever need, which is as much an indication of how long they last as it is of how old I am.

It's a 2005 as is my GMC. It's got a few of the usual issues, but I know how to fix all of them. I'm looking forward to years of service out of it.

Took you long enough. I'd think a self proclaimed tow master would have a diesel before now.

I hope my 2011 Ram 2500 holds as much value as your new truck

I just upgraded my wife's soccer mom vehicle from an 08 Expedition (5.4L Tow Package) to a 15 F-150 (3.5L Turbo Tow Package). Its ridiculous how much better the new V6 F150 is over old V8. 420 ft-lb of torque and 24 mpg highway for the win.

Is that observed mileage? On paper the combo sounds great but I haven't seen many reports of good mileage. In fact most comparisons have had worse mileage for the Ford turbo than GM V8s
