    Default New Seat

I want to upgrade the safety in my car.

I want to get a full containment seat.

In Southern Cal, who besides Subie Sports and GMG has seats in stock to sit in and try out for sizing and comfort?

    Johnny,

    I'm looking for a narrow 15" seat.

I'm a bit bigger than a jockey but not much more.

    1989 Porsche 944S2

I am looking for a full containment halo seat, FIA with same manufacturer side mounts and sliders. (need the sliders as my daughters sometimes drive the car too)

I already have a seatback brace which I need with this setup for PCA Club Racing, but it is not required for POC Club Racing.

I would like to try a seat for comfort before buying.

Maybe I need to check out (try) seats out in other peoples cars when I am at my next couple of events.

This is the one Kirkey recommended I use.

SEAT - ALUMINUM 15" DELUXE ROAD RACE 18º LAYBACK CONTAINMENT - Kirkey Racing Seats

It has side mounts available, but no sliders.

I have my eyes on this Kirkey seat too.

^ BFW is where I discovered my love for Cobra seats. Definitely worth dropping by their shop to try it out.

    Moti,

Traditionally metal seats have been known to deform. From the looks of it this kirkey is very stout. Does the manufacturer recommend this seat to be bottom mounted without any additional support similar to plastic fia seats tested for bottom mounting? Or despite manufacturer ok with bottom mount is conventional wisdom still to mount bottom and back of seat?

Hey Carl, note the quote used in my reply, I was referring to having the Cobra Evolution in stock, not the Kirkey.
This seat looks a lot like the one I installed in Brett's car (if I recall correctly..), our installation included both mounts at the base and a solid mount at the back.
I would not install an Aluminum seat at the bottom only.

Track days are the best place to test multiple seats. Only problem is you can't simulate sitting in it for 2+ hrs. I'd test fit at the track and talk to owners about their usage and how comfortable it is.
