Well the car is good for 2:00, 1:59 optimally. Having emilio vouch for you: worth at least 3 seconds.

Confession: didn't read the OP carefully. So yeah, RS3's are just a shade under 2s slower than NT01's. Still, I think it'll go well under 2:00 with some functioning aero.

Not making any statements about your driving, just saying that Frank is very quick and will not be leaving anything on the table there.

no worries dude. Im curious as to the rest of the chassis setup, im unfamiliar with what Franks running suspension wise. maybe im underestimating, but 2000lbs comp weight might be hard to hit with street class interior rules and safety. Unless he plans to run minimal safety. Street class aero rules are pretty limited also, with my car's aero nearly pushed to the limit of said rules Also wont significant aero create significant drag for that small displacement NA power plant?

I welcome the competition in class, alot of other cars have been coming out of the woodwork for street FWD also.

I was just messing with ya Emilio, we're all friends here. I know frank's no slouch behind the wheel, just saying im not the type to leave anything on the table either

yah i'm not holding my breath getting del sol to 2000 lbs wet. i think i'll be happy with 2150 lbs race weight and 300 whp lightly boosted... but, the rules is very liberal so... look at how far Andrew B. took his Eclipse to!! i'm just glad he's not in Street FF any more because that thing has got some mad engineering hours behind it.

300whp lightly boosted +aero and rubber is very different then 190 NA whp

thats the route i took, my motor is stock, lightly boosted, but im 2600lbs and struts LOL

Yeah i guess if your looking strictly at the SLB rules, then its pretty liberal, my car is setup to run Global time attack street class also, so my aero is setup to the limit of those rules

Welcome to the forum Frank! Im excited to see the build.

Off topic, but you gave me a ride a long at SOW a while back in your blue EM1. It was probably about 5-6 years ago? What are the whereabouts of that car?

I think you'll get some great times with the B16 Del Sol at SLB. Good luck!

Wait. . . . do I sense an opportunty for a betting pot. After all, Frank is not hiding his tail - he did make a prediction - and Grey Focus seems pretty interested in tasting the pudding.

Something like $5.00 each, no returned winnings, with the whole pot going to the winner on the track.

This could make Frank's maiden victory/deflowering even more interesting for all of us.

the EM1 was sold to a local buyer here in Hayward. he was a car show guy or something. i've never really seen it pop up anywhere after that. that car was sold hmm, i wanna say 2005. because it was sold before remix (yellow EG hatch) was stolen and remix was stolen in 2006.

haha, you guys must not know i have a bunch of other wagers with other people out there. i'll copy and paste from my blog:

"Now that 2011 is winding down and 2012 is upon us, I'm finally about to get serious. With out revealing too much at once, I'd like to formally announce, I'M BACK! Subscribe to my blog and I will take you for a ride in this journey... journey back to Land of Happy Motoring (which is the good old United States of America). :-) I have a few on going bets with several people. Most notably with Greg Fishman for $10,000 which is in regards to me racing at the professional level before I turn 40 years old. It's getting close, but I still have 2 years to make it happen!! I've got that race with VeloceRaptor who claimed something ridiculous... I will have to search the archive but he claimed something like he will be faster in my own car at Texas World Speedway by at least 6 seconds. I'm sorry, I don't think even my idol Ayrton Senna can beat me by that much in my car. Just with in the past two weeks I was issued a very simple challenge by a guy from rrax.com it is very simple. He does not believe I will have an SCCA license in the year 2012. When I produce the license he said he will donate $500 to the charity of my choice. Ahh, this time it is time to GET SOME! :-)"

is there much difference between GTA/SLB Street FF rules? i thought they kinda merged? if there are any rule difference i'm sticking to Street FF.

Emilio: I'm doing it because I want to show how fast they can go if you build it to the rule limit... the whole point of TA is to show case car tuning... right?

i guess its more so the GTA rules have more distinct aero rules, and the tire rules are slightly different. Also engine swap rules are in more detail

Project Cheap Dirty SOHC Part 2 - 04-6-2012 exhaust and bushings

Uploaded by ghettoracer on Apr 6, 2012
Sorry it took nearly 3 months for this update lol. Time passes fast. I was very busy in February and March because I was busy becoming a partner at N1 Concepts. That's all square away now and we are in the re-organization phase still but things get moving forward and I finally found some time to get back on Dirty SOHC.

My old pal Freeman Lui from VelocityShop actually sent the HardRace goodies back in February and I must apologize lagging on this... I'm as eager as anyone to get these goodies installed so I can enjoy Dirty SOHC to the fullest. I'll do my best to have all the bushings done before April is over so hopefully you will see part 3 soon!!

mid night dyno research. added Z.SPEED 60 mm catback and ebay 4-2-1 header. even with stock cat power increase is HUGE!!

ebay 4-2-1 ceramic coated header. but the coating is so cheap it is flaking after like 1 hour driving. lame. at least it does look stainless under neath and it works well.

i was a bit shocked at the increase across the entire power band...

stock exhaust is some where just less than 2" i think. crush bent. stock bhp (crank) ratings on these engines were 125 bhp.
