    Default New livery for 2017

    Guys,

I looked at my car after last season and decided to redo the decals for 2017. I really liked the new colored "chrome" vinyls that I had been seeing so I found some on ebay and turned James Brown loose with his vinyl cutter.

I like the way the car turned out, but the color-fastness of the blue chrome is pitiful. The rear license plate that has the class and car number done in in the vinyl started to fade just from having the sun hit the car when the garage door is open. I'm not sure it will be very "chromey" for very long. So, before it fades:

The chrome finish vinyls struggle under UV. Even the good stuff (Oracal, 3M, Avery) is rated for only 2yr outdoor lifespan - compared to 10yr for those same brand's standard colors.

Love the look though, car looks sharp.

It's really no different. Less glare, for sure. Just look in the mirror in the video:

The car ahead of me at the start had some mechanical issues, so I got by. I made a lot of mistakes, enough to let the guy behind me catch up, but we had a great battle at the finish and ended up third.
