Every Lexus I've ever driven has been the pseudo "couch on wheels." Really nothing exciting about them. Adequate power, comfortable, but numb steering and lukewarm handling. Granted, I haven't driven the ISF.

IS-F guy: FYI, I'm kidding, your car is badass and I'm sure you love it. Don't worry about Richard, he's just jealous that you can get 4 people around WSIR faster than he can in his sports car

I think he said he doesn't track the ISF. I'm sure those things are fast in a straight line, and dependable, which were his priorities, I think.

isn't this thread really abuot stereo types? If there was one type of car for all enthusiasts, we'd all drive it.

italian cars - I own one. modern ones are reliable, and maintenance isn't that bad
lexus' - maybe not track cars, but incredibly reliable. My wife drives one of their SUV's. And not every car I own should be a track monster.
Toyota- they did make the supra, which sold in Japan until what? 2002? great GT car and pretty quick around a track.

The new lexus will probably be stupid fast. it won't be for everyone. but it will probably go 200,000 miles before a tune up, but be not as engaging as some people would like.

I didn't buy it to be a track toy, I have it so my ass can be cooled by the ac seats and still get me across the country without ever being concerned about being broken at the side of the road. Maybe it would be worth your time to drive something other than an es350 to see that not all Lexus vehicles are living rooms for the rich on the road... For god sakes your vette was once a 30 plus thousand dollar car... Would that make you rich? What a stupid generalization to be made about an entire company... Nissan makes an Armada, does that mean the GTR is also some junk car for the rich just because the Armada is boring to drive?

Jeff I totally know you were kidding! And to the others your right. The point of the is vs the m3 or c63 is that around a track yes the m3 is faster... in a straight line it's not... The c63 is just badass in general.. The only reason I wouldn't go either of those ways is the reliability of the benz who knows... Some are good more are nothing but issues... The Lexus I never have to do anything other than change the oil and I beat the hell out of it constantly... I don't know if I could get it around WSIR faster than Richard... But I would bet my Integra can! And Matt stating his wife has a Lexus she drives proves my point exactly that I took issue with initially... "Lexus is for people that don't like cars" Last I checked Matt and myself certainly like cars!
