    Wink The new Honda S2000

    Absolutely stunning, pun intended
I guess the S2000 prices will go even higher as obviously there will not be another one coming soon.

Yeah, I started talking **** to the TV when I saw this commercial. It's literally an advertisement of Hondas digression.

Honda is bound and determined to make Honda's reputation in the US the same as in the UK (where it's generally viewed as a pensioner's car, nice, solid, reliable, but not very exciting)

    It makes me sad.

BUT, Honda has some interesting models in Europe. Actually the current generation ROW Civic looks quite nice and has some turbo engines available, against the awfull US Civic.

They do have some great models, absolutely. But in the same way that the LF-A and the GT-86 are fun cars from Toyota, let's face it, here, we think of them as being white with a blue stripe and the word "CAR" on the side.

(and for those that are too young to recall that reference... screw you )

I'll keep my '04 S2K and 1992 NSX, and assume that Honda will never build another great sports car . . .

OK, so the ad campaign worked. I looked into the car.

1.8l "VTEC" motor making 140 hp. What exactly is the high cam doing? That's just awful. This thing would barely haul groceries.

I think I am going to wait - looks like the Mazda is more fun to drive, but damn does the Honda have it beat in terms of cargo room and interior space.

From the photos I've seen, I like the interior and exterior looks of the the Mazda more. Not that the HRV looks bad, it just looks like an old person's car to me.

Honda just doesn't sell exciting cars anymore. They gave up on some model formulas that were working well, then had some schitzo-branding issues at the beginning of the century that I don't think they have recovered from. The last Honda I owned was one of the most expensive cars to maintain I have ever owned (Pilot), while the '03 Civic Si I had was cheated of the motor is *should* have had, but the rest of the world received.

They do some clever engineering, make decent highway cruisers, but still make nothing I am interested in.

More on the latest very small roadster:

" . . . just like in a go-kart, the S660 puts you in the sensorial center of the action. The responses are immediate, the feel otherworldly, the grins never-ending. Sounds like a New Sports Experience to me."
