Been shaking out the couch cushions to come up with the funds to add a livery to my new car.

This car for sale on BAT this week has pushed me over the edge!

That is a beautiful tribute car. Seeing that car brings back fond memories of climbing all over the race cars in Bob Sharps dealership showroom as a kid.... and watching him and PN tear up Lime Rock.

    Do it!
KI Studios in Mission Valley could get it perfect.
They have done 3 historic race cars for us and others for friends.

Got an estimate from them of "about $4,000" Is that in the ballpark of your previous experiences?

I've always liked the white with blue and red combo on the Z cars. Your engine compartment is already color coordinated! This one was pitted a few bays over from me at Sebring one day and I had to take a pic. Reminded me of the Bob Sharp cars at Lime rock many years ago when I lived in CT.

Its a little more than what my cars cost.
Your tribute may require more work as my cars were still mostly the paint color when complete.
Hopefully the $4k includes some clear stone guard under the vinyl on the nose and forward facing surfaces of the flares?
Or ask him to throw in some clear stone guard for the $4k estimate?

I think the 911 with clear guard was around $3k and it has much less vinyl than your tribute requires.
Now the 911 looks very similar to the original that the VP of Ford bought from Canepa for $1.3 million.
At big shows seems someone is always thrilled to share old stories of competing with real 77 Sebring 12 hour winner.

Kyle at KI Studios does excellent work, over the years none of the vinyl on my 3 cars has lifted or show any issues.
He spent extra time with me creating the art to get it right.

Enjoy your car in the plane white wrapper for a year or so then update it with the Newman theme.

My buddy had Kyle do his yellow Ralt like JV's blue open wheel racer.
Cost was close to your estimate.

Only made it to $77,000....you should have kept bidding. Seems like a great deal.

Had it been an actual BSR car with actual BSR history, it would have done $150-$200K IMHO.

It's a cool car, and you could not build it for that. I say well bought and sold.

Too bad about all the negative banter after the auction concerning another car.

I agree with you. Iím sure it has greater value because Bob Sharp owned it. But the value would have been MUCH higher if it had been a car that was actually campaigned by Bob Sharpís team.

Its a vintage racer with no history.
And after it was a proven winner Bob Sharp bought it and raced it, an amatuer built race car can't get a better endorsement than that.
I'd love to own and drive it!

CraZee just get a couple of vynil color panels (no lettering or #s) done for a few bucks, see if you like it?
