But, I'm totally on board. Thanks for your thoughts on it, Ryan. It's everything I hoped it would be. All I really want is a modern NA. I love the NA.

We can only imagine how wonderfull the automobile world could have been without the dealers. Or with dealers of some other kind, one that actually adds value to any brand and not taking it away

It has been my experience that if you walk into the dealership to buy a hot new car that just came out, and you say "I'm willing to pay MSRP and don't expect a discount, but I refuse to pay a dealer mark-up," you will drive your new car away at MSRP.

Dealer's asking price - they can keep on "asking". I wouldn't ever agree to an extra $5k just because the dealer feels like it.

It is one thing to ask $5k market adjustment, it is another to ask $295 for nitrogen in tires !!

Do people really want this car bad enough to pay almost $40K for it? I think even the MSRP is too high let alone that ridiculous dealer added package.

Just wait a year and get a way better deal. The Mazda dealer discounted $7K off the MSRP of my NC Miata when I bought it.

What year was your NC? There was a year or two during the recession where the NCs sold with big discounts. AFAIK, even the recent NCs haven't been selling for that low.

Only your secretary would pay $40K for a Miata. Realize that the cheapest serviceable car on earth is an NA. You can easily pick up one in decent running condition for $2K. Paying dealer markup on a Miata is like flushing a fist-full of Benjies down the comode . . .

How's the off-the-shelf suspension adjustability on these? Can you play with camber, toe & caster without coil-overs or aftermarket arms?

My NC was a 2012. I think the NC only sold well for the first two years. After that the numbers continued to drop.

I'm pretty sure you can adjust all you mentioned but you might need coilovers for really good negative camber.

Yes they haven't sold well for a few years now but I believe the Club trim gave later NCs a sales boost. Not great but a boost none the less.

For the NC the only year over year sales increase was 2011 to 2012. Other than that it's been a steady decline. 2006 was a huge year for Miata sales. I think 10 to 15 years ago the cars were slightly more affordable. At $32k MSRP that Miata isn't exactly a simple affordable sports car anymore. I think Emilio is probably right. Mazda want to continue the Miata but not necessarily want to sell them in great numbers. I don't think we are going to see the mass marketing we saw from Toyota with the gt86 who is desperate to get scion some sales.

Yes and no, there have been Miatas pushing $30k for quite awhile. IIRC, the '99 10AE car was close to $30k. My '99 touring stickered at $22 or $23k and it only had power windows, power mirrors and AC. It had smaller 14" wheels and everything so if you compare it to the $24k Sport trim ND today then the ND is quite a bargain.

Yep, all adjustable. We're getting max available camber a bit over 2 degrees negative with ~1" drop. More available as you go lower.

I bet the ND Miata would look good with Kosei K1 wheels.

    Significantly faster than a 2015 BRZ at SOW CW. 1:29.91 vs 1:31.27. That's 1.3s on a 1:30 course. Extrapolated out to a 2:00 course like maybe BW13CW that's 1.6s.
I'm starting to think an ND Club will go under 2:00 at BW13CW with just tires and alignment. That's firmly in S2000 territory. Wow.

Ooh. The Miata looks quite good in motion. Much better than it looks in still photos. It's been a long time since I liked the overall looks of a regular car.
