    Default Mulholland advice

I need to go to Simi Valley for work tomorrow so my wife and I are going to make an overnight trip out of it. Weather looks decent for Sat so I thought we would bring the Z06 and look for a fun drive on the way home. Being a San Diegan, I don't get up that way much. Is the infamous Mulholland off of the 101 a good choice to head South or are there better options?

    Thanks

    craZee

I used to run around the Santa Monica Mountains on a GSX-R750, and yes, it is fun and, perhaps equally important, easy to get to. You can go from Simi to the 101, to Kanan Dume, which takes you to Mulholland, I think. Verify with a map, but it takes you to the 1 in Malibu, which leads right to the 10 in Santa Monica. You might also try Latigo Canyon Road and Decker Canyon Road if you have time.

Due to its reputation, Mulholland is policed, so be aware of that.

    +1 this, especially Decker.
Lots of good roads between the 101 and Malibu, the combination of Piuma and Stunt Rd. is also good, but Decker is definitely my favorite.

Wow there really is a stunt road, I thought people were making it up.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?

    I prefer Piuma/Stunt myself...

But as always, just enjoy the drive.

I recommend an enjoyable drive on a scenic road. That is all.

A lot of law enforcement in the canyons. And if there's too much traffic, it's just waiting in a line.

But Piuma/Stunt is part of a very nice loop. Decker Canyon is fun if you're happy in even lower gears.

    This was on Stunt.
