Default Might be a no-brainer but... WWTHQD?

A friend of mine years ago bought a 125cc shifter. he raced it probably one season then go bored. the gearbox eventually grenaded on him and he hasn't had the motivation to rebuild it.

that was likely 2-3 years ago. I've always been pestering him to fix it and go out racing again, but he focused on other things.

he texted me today and said he'd sell everything he has (kart, some spares, and a kart trailer) for $750.

it's a 98 Track Magic chassis, Honda 125r. Fresh top end, but gearbox is messed up.

should I pull the trigger and buy it?

for the record, I've done a dozen or so hot laps in a 250cc shifter (open practice at local kart track), and a handful of events in a 125cc shifter (Solo2, prosolo, etc).

sell the CR engine, put in a rotax and come play with us. A few of us just got rotaxs. so we will be doing some tHQ kart days pretty soon.

I just picked up a Rotax TAG. Arguably the most reliable and lowest maintenance
set up. Also great resale value so not just throwaway expense if you get out of it in a few years.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.
But obviously I just dont get it. -fatbillybob

thanks, saw that, but being a Vegas guy, making it out to SoCal for karting fun would be a bit more involved. still... if I decide to pull the trigger on the kart, I'm gonna have to keep the shifter engine to keep up with you guys
