Wow the price is staggering (i guess if you have a global MX-5 cup car for 60k this doesnt feel so bad). Who will be the first shop to get sued for knock-offs?

    Also no mention of weight.

Most of the people I know who have GCCs probably won't mind the price tag. Rear window with no curve around the side seems a strange choice for a race car in which the driver needs good visibility in all directions.

The price is ridiculous. And, you can run in NASA, and SCCA I believe, without a hardtop. Just need arm restraints.

The NC hardtop that is approved for the NC in SCCA T4 just started shipping. 700.00. Approved is the key word as it has to be THAT top (or its predecessor) or NO top. Too bad that the season is almost over in terms of the run offs qualification. There is only one race left for us and we still don't have the top. Astounding that they didn't go the same aftermarket route for the ND that they did with the NC.

The issue for many is that without the hard top the cage has to have 2" of clearance over the drivers helmet for NASA and SCCA compliance. This rule is not applicable when using a hard top. In a car like the Miata this is sometimes difficult to achieve. When running open top, or with the lightweight hard top, I'd strongly consider running with a roof net. A lot of Spec Boxster guys use these and I think it would be a nice addition to the safety gear.
