When the choices dwindle to electrics, I'd be we see interest in enthusiast cars — new and used — begin to rise. That's pure speculation on my part, but I base it on human psychology and commodity theory.

The ones that surprised me the most were the 911 and 718. It seems like you see them everywhere

That list can be summed up pretty simply, I think.

Caddy ATS: "haven't they been been building those for years? It looks like the same Caddy that has been on sale for a decade"
BMW 2 series: "I got confused because it looked just like my wife's 15 year old BMW"
Miata: "have they put a v8 in that thing yet?"
Jag XE: "dude, check out that Kia that someone put Jag badges on. Like that'd fool us! ha!"
911: "I haven't been able to tell the difference between any of those 911 models in 30 years"
Alfa: "dude, look, someone stuck some old Alfa Romeo badges on an old BMW!"
Volvo S90: "Is that the new Lincoln?"
Toyota 86: "I'm just waiting for the turbo version..."
Nissan 370z: "there is no way that's a new car. They cannot POSSIBLY still be building those"
Jag F-type: "So what exactly IS this thing, anyway? An Aston Martin for poor people?"
Porsche 718: "that's a new model? Seriously? Damn."
Merc AMG GT: "I got nothing."
Nissan GT-R: "Did the design department at Nissan retire and no one notice?"
Alfa 4C: "oh look honey, it's a Lotus"

I have no desire to buy a new car. The economics and personal desire donít compel me to do so. I do like the ND-RF, but the price of one makes me look at the Ecoboost Mustang with performance options.

The only vehicles Iím considering buying in the next year or two are used Toyota 4x4s.

That is how I had been feeling for a few years. I just couldn’t find a car that I liked enough to pay for....perhaps that is because I liked my Corvette a lot. For me that changed when I found the R8 which is an ideal daily driver for me. When the right car comes along you will know it.
