    Default LS Primer

For anyone who has the slightest interest in the small block Chevy V8.

This guy is very low key, but he does a great job.

    Interesting timing on this post.

I am in the process of buying a used LS3 (9,000 miles) to put in a 240Z street car. 430 hp with a dry sump oiling system for $5,000. Crazy cheap.......

    Please keep us posted.

It really does seem like LS swaps are going to become increasingly popular.

I remember reading some serious problems regarding those dry sump systems, I guess they have been resolved?

I've been dreaming of a LS swap into a e36, I know it's not the purest thing to do but the price & power gains are hard to ignore.

In case you guys forgot, there is a car that comes with different versions of the LS and everything is designed wonderfully around the power plant for a nice performing package right out of the box.

The cost of the gold chains required to drive that car take it out of my budget.

I understand the fun of building a unique car, but I have been seeing C5 Corvette FRCs and Z06s for $11k to $15k if you look shrewdly. A friend bought a Z06 from an old lady in Bakersfield for $7,500. the paint looked awful, but he is only using it for the track.

PS. At that price you can buy the car for the engine and sell the rest.

As stupid as it sounds, at 6'-6" I fit in Z cars way better than Corvettes. My wife has a C5 soft top, and I dread driving it due to the lack of room.

When you spin as much as Oli does, there really is no right or wrong end........

That is true. The C5s are not ideal for someone as tall as you.

I don't know what you are talking about... I don't have any headroom problems with my C6 at the track

But you have to give it to him that it does have an engine, which is more than you can currently say about MR2eleven

Johnny, been thinking about that one a while ago, looked a little into it and saw a couple things I didn't like.
IIRC the steering shaft needed another U joint added to clear the headers as a result of the engine bay being designed for a straight sixer.
