    The Lotus F1 team has been awarded the 13th entry in the 2010 Formula 1 championship, the governing body announced on Tuesday.

    thats strange. Malaysia must have provided some kind of incentive.

    The team is owned by the Malaysian government and companies. Lotus is owned by Proton, who is owned by Malaysia. The primary benefit there is that there is lots of $$ backing the team.
