Default Lots of FRS Available Now

I dropped by Manhattan Beach Scion on my way home from a dinner meeting tonight. There were 10 FRS on the lot. All but 2 had manual gearboxes. None had any markup, which Scion does not allow. One had an expensive stereo added-on, but none of the other cars had add ons. All the 6MT cars stickered for $25,000 and change (closer to $25K than $26K). The days of scarce availability are over.

From what I understand. Scion dealers are allowed to charge whatever they want. It just had to be a no haggle policy. So they can charge everybody $100k if they wanted.

Thankfully they are not charging $100K for FRS. You can go in and buy one for $25 today. Maybe less . . .

I paid retail for mine back in July of last year, a friend managed to get $400 off of one last month after shopping around.

I own one for a daily driver and I am very very pleased with this car. I've had it for a few months and put about 3000 miles on it. So far no issues. The car looks more expensive than it is and turns heads so if you don't like the attention it might not be for you.

I would love to drive one. I would love to see that designed as a shooting break, too.

I wonder how much a slightly bent one goes for on auction? Perfect track car for cheap, or am I on the sauce? https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/Vehicl...adRecent=True#

Yeah,I've been looking at a few frs's at the auctions and the problem is that the sellers(insurance companies) are looking to get 60-70% of the MSRP.That is for a salvage car with some damage.Normal rate is more like 25-40%,this is where one can have some real savings.

Well that sucks. Even if you barely spend any on it you're already upside down regarding resale value. (it's salvage)

bawareca, do you have any experience with older sports cars and how much they go for on auction? Like S2k, c5 z06, NC miata, or even NB miata lol? I'm considering that route for next race car, because why not?

Been watching the dealer lists for auctions in ATL for Miatas. Saw a couple of NBs go for $2k, an NC2 went for a hair over $4k IIRC. A buddy of mine sends them to me occasionally, he works for a Jag/LR specialty shop there and parts out those marques. Used to watch the lists out of Detroit and Chicago from a relative who owned a body shop between both those cities.

I dont see any of the current BMW models to belong to your list.E36 and E46 M3 do,but it is a personal prefference.

Any issues on a frequently tracked FR-S/BRZ? I heard there was a rough idle issue but I am unsure if that has been corrected.
