    Default Las Vegas Motor

Can those that have driven the "outside road course" that Speed Ventures is running April 21 tell me anything about the course.

Worth the drive from San Diego?

I have driven it. Very similar to the ACS track and (to me at least) largely uninteresting.

I've driven it. It's different I guess? Think streets but flatter. Visiting vegas isn't a disaster.

    See my sig....

Kindof a neat little track, actually quite a bit more technical than first meets the eye. A little faster than Streets, nice curbing.

Hairpin, straight, hairpin, straight, hairpin, straight. Flat as a pancake. In the scheme of things, a little better than Streets of Willow and the ACS Infield, but not a great track. That being said, I went to the SV event there last year with my just-bought NSX, and had a lot of fun. Spent the weekend in Vegas with 2 lifelong buddies and got a day at the track too.

I say any track is worth going to once, just to try it.

    Default Yes

I haven't race there since '98, but I had a blast. It's a great track to race on.

Also, last year the SV event there was combined with a ricer car show. A bazillion hot chicks and a Lexus LFA running on track. My 2 buddies had never been to track event before, and while that one was not typical, they got an eyeful. Not sure if that is happening again this year.

The way I think about strip clubs, well Bill Cosby said it best: "You don't go down to the BBQ to smell the steaks."

the April event is with MFest, which is what Richard did last year. Basically a blistering amount of BMWs with two-three decent drivers piloting them.

The LVMS ORC is a nice track. Not as flat as some say, about a 50' elevation change... not dramatic, but certainly not like El Toro or the Infield at CalSpeedway.
The non-tracking day activities is what makes the ORC awesome.
