    Default Koenigsegg Regera

    1,500 hp
    3,100 lbs

    One v8
    Two turbos
    Three electric motors

    0-250 mph in 20 seconds.

    Contender for ugliest car.

Is there anything Koenigsegg can't do?

The Koenigsegg Regera is the 1,500bhp king of the Geneva Motor Show | The Verge

The Regera is a hybrid (a plug-in hybrid, no less!) that combines the output of three electric motors (700bhp) with the power of a twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine (1,000bhp) to produce unspeakable amounts of speed. Combined, the drivetrain will propel all 3,131 dry pounds of the Regera from 0 to 400kmh — that's nearly 250mph — in under 20 seconds.
How is it that they made a car with 4 freaking power producing motors, with a dry weight barely in excess of 3,000 lbs, and the Corvette, which only has a single v8 motor, couldn't be made under 3,400 lbs? Balls.

To do that, Koenigsegegzzgssgzgzz uses a lot of CF, titanium and other cheap available materials.
Saves a ton of weight from you bank account too.

Isn't that how Jeremy Clarkson spells the name of this oddball automaker on the Top Gear fastest lap board?

Is no one else impressed that this thing does 0-250 mph quicker than a Miata going 0-[freeway speed]? I think I recall that it look the McLaren f1, my favorite car of all time, over 40 seconds to reach 240 mph. This car is pushing boundaries like nothing else. Also, carbon fiber wheels. Is that an OEM first?

What I think is bad-ass is that they've removed the transmission! It's got no transmission! WHAT?!!!

I didn't know that. I just looked into it.

There is a 240hp electric motor for each rear wheel, and one electric motor for the crank. The latter adds torque to the V8 powerband when it is needed. Below 30mph, the car is electric only and has a range of 22 miles.
