46k? That thing looks abused! Probably why it's on C/L with such a high asking price!

Not the same car. The car is the same color with some similar mods but the one in my shop had a K24 TSX swap with a Rotrex supercharger. AEM Infinity ECU. 350 hp to the wheels. Wicked fast car. Daily driven.

It is good to see cars like these driven. What is the point of having a car like this be a garage queen? A few rock chips never hurt anyone.

Absolutely agree- I'm just not paying for his parts/labor and track fees! I would, at least, attempt to repair/replace the duct tape-repaired mirror and clean it before taking pics. I'd rather take that money and buy one of these.....

From the Lotus Talk thread, the car is a bit battered. Apparently a buyer went to look at the car and it's not in good shape. Photos well though.

    A few things to note:
    - AC doesn't work
    - headliner hanging down
    - cooling system seems a bit amiss

I'm with 2GRX7. I'd rather get a stock Elise for less, and fewer worries about the "improvements" made by the previous owner. I can't even imagine what the wiring in this car looks like.

The one we had in my shop had a lot of 'support' work done for the new power plant. Most were done before I had a chance to work on the car. Standalone milspec engine harness for the AEM Infinity ECU, hours of dyno time, Electric Water Pump, AIM MXG Dash (warning lights!), Intercooler upgrade, big Wizard Cooling radiator, dual SPAL Fans, etc. Its the things that you don't see behind the scene on these kinds of upgrades that come back to bite.

How can you do a legal swap in the California with a JDM Type R engine?

Legal or "legal"? "Legal" can be done but not cheap.

Agree. Upgrades are fun and rewarding to a point. Continue the process and ultimately you sacrifice driveabilty, reliability, comfort, or all of the above. The stock Lotus is a pretty serious car as is. If it were mine I'd probaby leave it unmolested. It sure is fun to shop/dream however.

LOL. Like I said - 'if it were mine'. If it was yours I'd be pushing all kinds of mods. The lights have to stay on don't you know. JK of course . Each of us has our sweet spot where usability and performance intersect. The tough part is that the intersection point is different for each individual. What works for one won't work for someone else.
