Default Interesting Advertising/Video for the new C7 Corvette

The video is interesting. I was expecting Spring Mountain driving students, but it appears to be an experienced driver. Although they had telemetry stuff on the driver himself, they didn't really even elaborate on that much.

    --------------------------------------------

Heart-racing. Pulse-pounding. Spine-tingling. These are just a few of the ways to describe the unequaled precision and exceptional ride and handling of the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray, the industry's most awarded vehicle of the year, including the 2014 North American Car of the Year.

Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch offered five unique drivers a different kind of Las Vegas excitement the world's first reverse test drive. The camera crew and scientists carefully captured every moment.

We set out to measure the visceral reaction drivers have behind the wheel of this completely redesigned vehicle. We put the latest biometric equipment to the test to measure the heart rate, breathing rate (breaths/minute), neutral brain wave activity and calories burned of a select few test subjects.

These drivers didn't test the Stingray, the Stingray tested them. And you won't believe the results.

0/10 wouldn't watch again. Shaky-cam does not belong anywhere. Not in michael bay movies, not in action scenes, and certainly not in a $#&#ing commercial.

I'd love to see Oli and the Sheriff wired up to this. Just for extra kicks, each time it detects fear or over confidence you get a shock proportional to the level of each respectively. And if you start experiencing too much pleasure you get a cold shower afterwards.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?

Just "shows to go ya". At the other extreme of the subjectivity index, I really like it. The hand held camera avoids Michael Bay haphazard panning; and the "story board" scene selection, the understated but super effective sound track, and the vicarious sense of involvement were 9+/10 from my perch.

My heart rate is elevated, and I am drooling all over my immaculate keyboard.

Keep in mind, however, that I am very easy to please when it comes to "production quality", multi-camera car porn.

Calling Jack Olsen, a man with demonstrated production prowess, for his take.

I don't think I suffer over-confidence. 160+ into Turn 1 at ACS deserves respect. The same goes for 135+ into Turn 8 at WSIR and many other tracks. 120+ though The Kink at Road America will get most drivers attention, etc.

A cold shower after the 106 degree NASA race would have felt good for this racer who does not race with a cool suit.

    Nice.

A bit like Clint Eastwood or Steve McQueen.

Are the questions about the electronic LSD with respect to track use more about handling performance or are they more about reliability?

I was told by a reliable source that under extreme driving, ie. bigger slip angles and such I am only guessing, that it is unpredictable and harder to drive. The same race shop known for making lots and lots of racing Corvettes was working with GM to figure out a solution I am told.

I am just seeing a lot of promotional communications, driving programs, magazine reviews, etc.

I could really make you wonder and start posting all sorts of info on the RX7.
