Default If you think Time Trials are Racing, have you ever Raced W2W?

What it says. If you answered the previous poll, voting that Time Trials should be considered Racing, have you personally ever driven in a wheel-to-wheel race sanctioned by SCCA, NASA, FIA, or any other amateur or professional race-sanctioning organization?

    Richard,

I guess the way the question is stated, if you Don't think TT is racing then you just don't vote....

Not sure how relevant this poll is...

If there was a vote on increasing taxes for a certain municipality, you'd probably find that more democrats over republicans would favor the initiative. So yes, you get a better understanding of the breakdown, but in the end, it's the majority vote that matters.

So in the previous poll, the goal was to see what the MAJORITY of TrackHQ members' opinions were on the topic. Not the breakdown of one subset of the voters and how skewed they are to a particular answer.

You think your Poll is relevant, so you posted it.

I think my Poll is relevant, so I posted it.

I believe that if the members in your Poll who voted for "Time Trials are Racing" are willing to vote in my Poll (that's another question), then you will find that it is the PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of the voter that matters. My theory is that those who have run Time Trials (which is almost everyone here) and not W2W Racing, think that Time Trial are Racing. Those who have done both, on the other hand, are more likely IMHO to say that only W2W is racing.

It's like voting on rules against smoking in public. The legislators who don't smoke vote in favor of those rules, and the legislators who smoke vote against them. Since a lot more of our legislators (and most people) don't smoke nowadays, those laws always pass.

It's PERSONAL EXPERIENCE that colors a person's opinion.

    W2W in karts!

It's a ton more fun when beginning, and then the same fun (but in a different way) once you are into it. Karts are soo much cheaper, no W2W for the GT3!

I don't know about that. I spent the weekend with Kristjan at the kart track racing LAKC. I added up all the costs and it was about a $900 weekend.

And how much do you spend, all in, to run your T1 Corvette for a CalClub weekend? It's a heckuva lot more than $900, including all maintenance and wear items.

$900 is what it costs me to race my miata in 2 classes. That's why I am not impressed by karting as a cost saving measure...

Based on a conversation we had last weekend, you don't do much to maintain your car between race weekends. While that might save money in the short run, I think you have to amortize the coming big "KABOOM" over the next year.

If I had a big KABOOM on my original engine with 130+ track days on it, I think I'd be cheering! Miatas rock!

Am I not supposed to answer this poll since I don't feel that TT is racing?

+1 Karting is ridiculously expensive at anything more than putting around on a set of 5 weekend old tires and spending only on gas and entry fee.
