Expecting sanity on TrackHQ is like expecting politicians to be honest.

Again, only if the driver was actually interested in learning to drive, which would start with a discussion of what was wrong in that video.

    $18K for a C5 Z06 is a pretty good price, eh?

Yeah, watched the video and... would have still rather been in his passenger seat than seen the travesty that was Bimmerfest.

Given how often they were both looking in their mirrors, that in-car footage should be overlaid on a police chase video.

This is why I stay in the Black group at this point. I have a 2014 Gt 500. The best time I put down on my first time on the Roval was 1;55.6. The car is stock. Cost me both front tires and brake pads.

We are so lucky to have super high HP cars available to us. Thank you GM for engineering some amazing nannies. Keep up the development once you make something foolproof a better fool is born.

All it was missing was, "for Grorious Motherrand!"

If he'd actually crashed the thing (which is bound to happen) then I would be looking for the "Allahu Akbar!" sound clip overlayed onto the video, which seems to be all the rage these days.

This could spawn a whole new discussion. "Who has the most idiot drivers?" Did I just use the I-word?

Never driven with SV, but have been to some ExtremeSeepd events, and holy sh*t! Saw things that were pretty unbelievable. The worst was the guy who went off track early in the day, and he got back on the track going the wrong direction.

    Agreed.
It used to be that Red was entirely experience based, but in recent years it seems to have changed to a mix of experience / lap time, which combined with the current crop of ridiculously fast street cars leads to some interesting situations.
BTW, I wasn't talking specifically about Corvette drivers either.
Of my 3 close calls over the years, two have been with Porsche drivers.

While true it is the event organizer who has the critical role in track control. The single most important pervasive theme is the organizers who control the track best keep the "spirited" drivers in check. Those superior organizers take their programs seriously to include best practices, organizational systems and infrastructure, such as adequate safety crews and alert trained corner workers, to keep their drivers safe.

It's a double-edged sword. If you don't want to see any idiots, then go to the extremely controlled SCCA, BMWCCA, PCA track days and see how you like that structure.

Hey, they let ME race in SCCA, so you know there are at least *some* idiots out there on track

Interesting. I went back to look at this video. After three weeks, about 200,000 views and 500+ comments the video is now private.

Remember Rocky and Bullwinkle...at the next SV event...."I learned something important about my driving" or "I'm the awesome slayer of GT3's?"
