Default how do Japanese handle their track days ?

thinking out loud. We did a trip to the Ring and Spa 2 years ago. was a blast and relatively cheap (just over $3,000 including EVERYTHING). just wonder if it is possible for a Japanese trip visiting Suzuka and Fuji.

I never read anything about Japanese track days. hopefully someone here can chime in:

    1. private track days like we have here ?
    2. Suzuka and Fuji. how far apart are they ? do they allow track days ?
    3. places that rents race cars ? like rent4ring, etc.. for the Ring
    4. what kind of pricing are we talking about ?
    5. possible to drive a rental car onto the track ? it is next to impossible in Germany.

What do you mean by everything? Car rental/track fees?

I mean EVERYTHING for about $3,400. okay other than souvenir (Zhong bought a LOT) and some misc cost (Emilio needs to have a Starbucks coffee everyone he sees)

plane ticket (Air Berlin), hotel (4 in a room, but each gets a bed), rental car (BMW 320d, 140mph on Autobahn and 1/2 day at Spa), food, fuel, track fee (private track days, not public days), race car - (Renault/Exige 1/2 day at Spa and Suzuki Sprint 1 day at Ring), fee for Porsche Museum, fee for Mercedes museum and food.

    hard to believe, I know.

List of track I would want to drive, in order of priority

    1. Suzuka - Would do the trip if this is the only track I got to drive
    2. Tksuba
    3. Ebisu Circuit - "the" drift circuit
    4. Sugo
    5. Okayama

Ref: List of motor racing tracks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I would also like drive the Hakone "mazda" Turnpike

    SuperMiata

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.
But obviously I just dont get it. -fatbillybob

You know, if you guys really wanted to do this, you could probably take a week and do a "One Lap Of Japan"!

If you say out of Hokkaido Perfecture, and start at Sendai-Hi-land, one hour later, you're at Sportsland Sugo. From Sugo, its about another hour to Ebisu Curcuit (Ebisu alone has three tracks I want to try). Maze would be next, but it's on the west coast, and unless you're an avid, O.G., Best Motoring fan, i'd skip.

Twin Ring Motegi's next-at about 2.5hrs south of Ebisu,....."AND (Que ring announcer) at 1.5hrs from Motegi, measuring in at a svelte 1.287 miles and faster than a 54 sec. Mike Tyson-Sterling Benjamin knock-out (see what I did there boxing historians?), It's the reigning Super Lap Serpent, the Time Attack Terror...TSUKUBA!!!!

Finally Fuji is another 2.5-3 hrs south of Tsukuba. If you do that route, you'll be 1.5 hours from Toyko center and can just party that night! DAMN! I miss Japan!!!

This is only the "North Loop"! You could just skip a couple of the before-mentioned tracks and go for the popular ones throughout the country. Hell, Japan's about the size of California, so a full tour's not out of the question.

Hey, maybe there's some way to work with the used car dealerships there as we all know their used car dealers are on a whole other level than here. THIS CAN BE DONE!!!!

Good thing I'm in Florida now! I need a straight-frame FD RX-7 and there are plenty there. Drive it on the trip and ship it to FL. to "display".

Kei cars are so small, I know I have a hard time fitting in them without a bucket mounted to the floor (I'm 6'2) and they are kinda fun but only if you don't drive them on the freeway lol 5500rpm in cruise ftw

RHD is such a pita I wouldn't buy anything in it unless we couldn't get that car here in LHD

William, don't forget the 2 karting places we went to as well as taking the train to that downtown area where we had bomb food and drinks. Yes lots and lots of souvenirs!! I think i spent around $3400 all included. We drove Spa-Francorchamps in changing weather conditions (from damp to dry) in 2 different rwd cars on 2 different days. Drove the Nurburgring GP track 1 day and then Nurburgring VLN shortertened configuration GP + Nordscheleife. We were nose to tail racing on the Nurburgring passing turbo porsches with 2 Super Suzuki Swifts Stage 2 (2 SSS 2) like SPM but with Suzukis!!!!!!! We were able to sit shotgun and drove for all 4 days and got it on video + data. Best part was none of the cars ever broke. No wrenching involved. muahahaha. HELL, we even had time to try Belgian waffles and check out Hockenheimring.

    Loved it. Soooo worth it.
