Default Honda Miata in the Works?

I would say this one's for Richard but it won't have enough powahhh for him. Could be very cool and depending on the direction they go and could force Mazda to up their performance game with the Miata a bit if they're in the same price point.

Wow, that front end styling needs more CAD time.

The sides look good. The front looks like they were trying to capture remnants of this:

    Which is completely uncalled for.

It's about mother f_€£ing time! If Honda makes its purpose to be a sports car, it will be good. At least if the past is a good indicator for the future.

Not if they set a price point of $20k... S2K would be ~$40k if it was sold now?

And the idea that they'd be be hitting 400+ lbs less than the current Miata (in any sort of road legal, modern safety form) is a pipe dream.

The Elise/Exige was U.S. street legal and it weighed 2,000 lbs.

S2000s were sticker-bumped by dealers to as high as $40,000 when they were new.

^ this. Zero chance someone is making a mass-produced, modern USDM legal 2000 lb sports car for $20k.

you guys are missing my point, at least honda is making an attempt to include a sports car or two in their line up. And knowing honda that yellow thing will be vastly different come production and who's to say there could not be a type r variant down the road.

Is the CRZ the other sports car?
