    that's crazy, coolant at 239F ?
what does ECU at 221F mean ?

Well its all good news to me. I have a habit of buying things I don't need. This just insures I don't do anything stupid for a while.

This test really makes the Z28 seem like Chevy's performance bargain.

c7 z06 sets Nurburgring lap record. Contrails of vapour thought to be dry ice streaming from car during record lap.

I just peeked at the C7Z section on the vette forum tonight. Those poor guys. Most of them are just clueless fanboys and GM can do no wrong. Anyone who says otherwise is "jealous" or a "hater/troll". This summer is going to be interesting to say the least... I wonder if GM will address this at all for the 2016 model? There is no way this car should be going slower than a 1:24 at big willow with Randy driving. It just doesn't add up if you look at the specs of the car.

Back before I knew what hpde was, I built a supercharged LS2 gto. It was pretty fast, but suffered from heat soak. Then I put in a dedicated fuel system and ran E85 and took it to the drag strip. It ran a 9.9 at 145 mph. I was literally shaking at the end of the pass it was so fast.

Yeah i was surprised at those lap times. It should have done sub 25s for both those cars. I do have a theory. Since the vette is manual and GTR is insta-shift paddles. Maybe it loses 1-1.5mph per shift hence the 6mph difference at end of front straight. Most likely GTR was able to get on throttle 1s or 50ft earlier or roll on earlier due to AWD vs gobs of torque/power rwd vette.

Or, more likely the GTR was still making close to full power at the end of the straights...while the Vette wasn't.
Are the exit speeds known for each of the cars coming out of Nine?

The cooling works fine on the straights,so probably the Vette is making a good power, especially at the end of the straights where everything is well cooled by the huge amount of air available.Slow sections are where the heat builds up.
Putting down that power is where the main problem is for the Vette, especially in the corner exits. The suspension is a compromise between straight line acceleration(drag) and putting power down while still turning (track).

What could GM realistically do to fix these issues for a 2016 model?

Also, if the chanes are severe enough will they retrofit the 2015 buyers for free? Tough spot to be infor GM.

Wasn't this Vette considered a "stop gap" for the mid-engined version that was supposed to be brought to market (according to Bob Lutz)? Now that GM is on the up, the next version will, in fact, be what it should have been from the beginning.

This is just another example that it is very hard to improve on something almost perfect,i.e. the previous generation(s). And that the HP is not the answer for all questions and sometimes can ruin a good platform. I dont have personal experience with any of these cars, but from what i can compile they are amazing machines, most important,"perfectly" ballanced.
Just an example-BMW M models. With these torque monsters and RWD they have become drift machines, pretty far from the original idea of M3.
