Default Happy New Year and whatnot...

My annual reminder that everyone should stay safe and secure... and don't be "the guy in that youtube video"

Seriously, though, take care. I need all the distraction I can get. I've spewed orange jello more than I'll admit reading someone's response while the nurses try and figure out if it's some kind of strange allergic reaction to whatever they are running in my IV. And it all let's me race vicariously through everyone else, since it's going to be a very long time, i suspect, before I race again (heck, I doubt I could manage 3 consecutive laps, much less an entire session).

In short, I've cornered the market for ****ty health conditions. Y'all aren't allowed to participate

    Steve

All good except for the party about your family room reservations at the Chicken Ranch Hotel.

Wow Steve! Did not know of your health. I'm sending you positive vibs from sunny SoCal. I'm at the age that friends are starting to die. I just lost one a month ago suddenly. I try to enjoy everyday. If I stop posting here I died but whatever I was doing I enjoyed it. Take a tip from a young senior citizen. "It ain't getting any better and no one on their deathbed which they worked a little harder."

The good news is that I live off Oli's taxes now...

The downside is that I'm not really supposed to drive, not even to the corner 7-11, although I did get to drive twice (for a total of 3.5 miles) when we picked up and dropped off a Hertz rental we took for a day to keep my account active (I have a ton of Hertz reward points, and for $22 I effectively extended their lifespan another 24 months)

I am glad to hear my taxes are going to a worthy cause.

I do expect to get a sponsor sticker on your crutches, etc.

    They'll love it.

We took our kids, 11 and 13, to Vegas for a weekend at the Hard Rock for a friend's 50th birthday. We didn't know it when we made the reservations, but Alice Cooper and a few other headbangers were playing there that weekend. It was an experience for them, for sure.

We poked fun at the city and the behavior it can bring out in people. We took them on the Hoover Dam tour, too, so we could feel a little better about ourselves as parents for, you know, the educational aspect of the trip.

New years is the only time I will not be in vegas this December. Been there 3 weeks in December, 2 weeks in the months leading up to that, and 1 more long week starting on Jan 1st.
Really good food but I hate vegas.
