Comment not directed to you. Truth is I am trying to figure out how to afford a 2012 GT-R (the new one with 530 bhp) as my next daily driver. MSRP almost $90,000, so out the door about $100,000. A lot for a Nissan, but worth it if you have the coin.

    Happy Holidays!

If you haven't already, take a look at the Black edition. Comes with the Spec V rims, Recaro seats, and a few other accoutrements.

Does the Black edition only come with black paint? I hate black cars. I want a white GT-R.

Wow, last I I heard you were thinking about another S2K for a DD. Now you want an automatic? What's going on in the world?

Daily driver. It doesn't actually have an automatic, it has an automatically actuated clutch, but is shifted manually, as I understand it.

It is a dual clutch computer controlled manual transmission. It can be driven in automatic mode (which I never do), or shifted manually with the paddles.

Here is something I found regarding the 2012 GT-R, and there is some information about the Black Edition in here, as well:

OFFICIAL US PRICING 89,950 and 95,100 for BLACK EDITON! - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club

If I didn't have so much invested in my '09, I'd definitely trade it in on a '12 Black Edition. Shake

It is not that expensive once you consider all the costs. The car drives itself so you will save about $40,000 per year, plus payroll taxes and benefits, on your chauffeur. It you consider the loaded costs of a car that drives itself, you will get a ROI in less than two years. That is not too bad. Another S2K would never pay for itself. It will just cost you money.

Good point. And I don't have to buy any gold medals to wear on my hairy chest like I would if I bought a Corvette. More savings. Kaching!
