I found a '92 red coupe that has been nicely but not heavily modded. It has the original wheels plus a set of bigger later model nsx wheels too. It has a harness bar, which I need

It has been tracked at least a few times but that doesn't scare me. 2 owner car with all service records. I need to go drive it and get it inspected. About the same price as the 94. The 94 has had the timing belt and pulleys changed, but the 92 needs that work done. Price about the same.

Thank god for inspections. Saved my arse once when I was in the marketed for a 1G Eclipse GSX. It that was from a used car lot too. Don't buy anything performance-oriented off a used car lot. Buy it from owner so you can catch their vibe and see if you feel comfortable with it. Chances are if you're a car guy and you aren't comfortable with them as a person or their lifestyle, their cars are probably not as well maintained as you would like them to be... Just my .02

I can't say whether the car is a good deal or not but in the case of a purchase like this, you have to feel comfortable with it...if your gut is saying you shouldn't, follow it... there are other examples out there (as it seems you have found).

And yes, the path of repair also leads me to the path of upgrade...$$$$$$

Don't bother with it Richard, take it from an idiot like me, it could be a costly/time consuming road when the "well now that the engine is out, why not add that twin turbo setup?" logic starts to set in.
You are my favorite example of this train of thinking lol! <3

I bought the 92 in OC. It comes with all service records, original wheels (2 sets, 92 5- spoke and later NSX 7-spoke larger wheels, aftermarket coil overs , headers, harness bar and exhaust. 2 owner car always serviced by Ramon at Niguel Motors in Laguna Hills.

    Happy Birthday to me.

^^^Thanks, junior. Let me know when you are old enough to wear long pants, and maybe I will let you drive my NSX.

this one looks super clean, especially the interior shots! congrats. Amazed at how nicely these cars hold there value. What was the MSRP back in 91/92? ~$40k? And how many sold in the US?

MSRP in '92 was $65,000. You're way off on that one, Manly.
