I hope you didn't take my post seriously. I'm thinking that's precisely what happened.

Ive only ran new tires on my Miata maybe twice (both times i kept the stickers on) and got that weird chatter and funky handling issue also. I prefer peeling off the stickers but, like you said, they dont always peel off all that well. And sometimes the guys shipping the tires go nuts with all sorts of stickers making it a pain in the ass peeling them off.

I like to wax my stickers then put a nice coat of finger nail polish over them. It give them a luster that all the Miata drivers turn and say...OOoooooOo
It also makes them last and keeps that new tire smell longer!

Brandon, I had a couple sets of 205 RR stickers, never bothered peeling them off, never encountered anything like you describe.
    Color me puzzled.

Holy crap! I just wet myself laughing. File this gem under #miatadriverproblems or **** Miata drivers say.

On a corvette, the sticker is worth 2 secs per lap.

I did treat them a bit like the way your OP described, some wheel spin coming out of the pit for the rears and extra scrubbing on the first lap for the fronts.

During transport and storage, the very outer layer of rubber suffers from micro-oxidization and the chemical engineers of the sticker factory design the adhesive to neutralize this effect when the tires get spun past a certain rpm. Once the chemicals are activated, they wick around the circumference of the tire and provide a momentary increase in maximum grip. An old school trick that is now banned in many organizations is to obtain surplus stickers and completely cover the tire before each race. The chattering you experienced might be caused by improper break in of the stickers. You must maintain a certain g-force for a certain amount of time to achieve the maximum retention of grip enhancing adhesive compounds. Usually the tire manufacture can provide you with this information, although only the higher-ups will be privy to this insider secret information.
I don't know how I missed this little gem when it was posted. The thread should have ended on this high note. I can just picture Brenda calling hankook asking them for the proper break-in procedure for their stickers.
