    This tread is hilarious....

The guys that have wives that read this forum crack me up almost as much as the "He-Man woman haters club"...

    Thanks

    Congratulations on the engagement.

Unfortunately, you don't get to pick your hobbies/passions. They pick you and you are fcuked from then on.

I think my hobby is spending all my money without going into debt. Racing just happens to be the most stable platform for doing this.

Just a few track days a year can be a great way to keep your hand in the game and stay connected to something that you can grow in the future.

I think in most marriages, you are not literally "fcuked from then on" . . . It tends to dry up over the years.

Getting married didn't affect my track habit. My wife is great. At times the wive even supported it by giving track related gift. She even took a couple of driving schools. Being financially stable is a big plus. I don't think I could enjoy myself if going to the track meant I would take needed money from my family. Lets face it tracks days are a selfish activity. Only you the driver enjoy it.

I was an aggressive driver until last year when my son was born. Now there is always that nagging fear that if something happens to me my son will be without a father. Right now he needs me more than I need fast lap times. I still go to the track but I'm not even close to the limit any more. Maybe that will change as my son gets older and he doesn't need me to hold his hand as much.

Maybe not, but I bet you have had to make a lot of compromises with and excuses to wifey to get to the track . . .
