I got approved for a mentor ride overnight. One of the few things i have never tried yet is a taxi driver

    They provide umbrella coverage.

For what its worth ($1K actually), today is likely the last day to squeak through on this.

Google "apply lyft driver" and go.

I owe you a few drinks
    Here's the email i received:

"Success! Thanks for all the referrals.

Yesterday we announced our $1,000 sign-on and driver referral bonuses, which resulted in thousands of new applications - proving that no one can hustle as hard as Lyft drivers.

Because of the unprecedented response, we're no longer offering the bonuses for new applications in Los Angeles.

If you or your friends applied before 12 p.m. (3 p.m. EST) today, they're still eligible for the $1,000 bonus. Just make sure that first ride is complete by March 5.

We'll continue growing passenger demand and will be looking for new drivers again soon."

I find it amusing that you guys are THIS EXCITED about $1,000-, especially when you are being recruited by Lyft, and have to do a "test" drive. How much do you spend on car racing?

I passed my mentor drive and am now awaiting my background check to complete. The guy said my car was kind of loud and said I should have more tire life but he marked it all as OK anyway. I never mentioned the 520whp on tap Once that was done, we took a short drive to a Baskin Robins and he paid for my ice cream (they get $35 for doing a mentor session).

Hopefully everything clears sometime next week so I can get that 1 drive in

Good move. Fast on and off the track.

For others, I am hearing that you should arrange for your mentor drive today to help insure timely processing.

    Because:

    1. COTA, Laguna Sega, etc.
    2. Something nice for the family.
    3. Pay some bills.
    4. Set of tires
    5. Buy a used motorcycle, new computer, high-end phone, or up-sized TV.
    6. Blow it in Vegas.

btw: Out of courtesy, it will be best not to mention the fact that you may only drive one time in order to qualify for the referral incentive.

What car are you using as the "taxi"? Your STI?

During the registration process, my car (SUV) was deemed too old :-(

Oh, and received the same message today from Lyft in regards to the overwhelming response and $1000 offer was only good to those that had signed up through noon today

Seems like at least a few guys checker flagged.

I just hope that Lyft backgrounds everyone in time for the Thursday drives.

The sound you hear is me knocking on wood . . . . .

So, will any of you new taxi drivers serve the Rosamond area?

    Asking for a friend.
