I just paid $4.399 per gallon for 91 oct. plus 35 cents ATM transaction fee at an Arco station in Malibu, CA. It cost me $72.77 to fill up my Jaguar, which will only go a little more than 300 miles on that tankful.

In the same area, there is a very expensive 76 station. This morning they had full-service premium on sale for $5.599/Gal. Not making this up.

$4.25 for 91 @ Costco here in south OC.

When I lived in Charlotte, I would detour into South Carolina for fuel...so much cheaper there.

$2.97 in Cheyenne, WY. Still not worth living here full time though.

4.55 down the street for 91 here. Theres a station in LA that's selling the same gas for 5.39/gal. If Iran blockade's the Strait of Hormuz, we'd probably be paying what 100 octane costs at the track now.

$4.499 for 91 in Irvine. Going to crest $5 soon.

BTW how is a blockade even possible? That waterway is almost 30 miles wide. That's like from Catalina to Huntington Beach... All they could do is fire at tankers, but it's International waters, even they're not that dumb.

It's likely that it's just a bluff, as Iran does not have the manpower or resources to make it happen. They knew the our government would back the away for a bit, so that card was well played I guess. But if it does happen, naval traffic would probably stop for a bit and the world economy would be f'd.

If there is a risk of getting shot at you don't send your $500,000,000 loaded tanker with a crew of 30 through the danger zone.

Not to mention Lloyds probably sends you a notice before you get there saying your insurance does not cover losses in that area.

Then you go out and buy a hat like mine.

Just invest in a bit of gold.. It should track right along the black gold, and you'll be smiling everytime gas prices goes up or a war breaks out haha

Most of the problem is speculation in commodities

When you start racing a prius you can completely exclude the gas from your menu
Even if you dont own or drive car at all,gas price will affect your pocket, not in a good way.
