Default Ferrari 458 Beats Wright Brothers

The first flight of the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk covered 120 feet, about 1/3 the flight path of the 458 below:

    Sadly reminiscent of Suzuka 2013:

Nice to have a window net when your door disappears.

Jason Saini had some great discussion about this accident on FB, for those who follow.

All because the guy in the black car couldn't stomach the idea that the guy in the red car had a better run out of Turn 4 -- and moved over on him when he was about to be passed.

Scary, and a good reminder to everyone driving on a track (and streets nevertheless) that everything you do may have a terrible consequences.
And one may have to live to the end of it's life with this consequences.

    Some other points:

    This was in qualifying

Trailing car I think is a bit nuts going for it there

Leading car turns head before moving

That doesn't look one bit like qualifying...

i dont think this is qualifying. Why would anyone be that aggressive in passing and blocking during qualifying. doesn't make sense.

    Possibilities:

    1. I heard wrong from multiple sources

    2. Ferrari drivers really are that stupid

    3. Heat race?

It should have been a routine pass. But no.

This is a more complicated issue than the video would suggest. First, video lies. I remember when one of our very own was run off the track at Runoffs. I was quick to judge by the presented video then had to rethink the entire event when another video surfaced from a different angle contradicting the first video. Be careful what you see your eyes can fool you. These are were out of class cars in mixed class racing and in a 13/13 series during a gentleman Ferrari Challenge revival of old and current challenge cars series. There is a lot of potential bad to be shouldered by both drivers. A discussion could morph into rights, responsibilities, chopping, blocking, and blind spots to name a few. We are all waiting for the Series Chief report. His team has the data we only have opinions.

I'm of the opinion that both drivers should be hung and quartered for this one.

Do the drivers get any relief for time served? One guy lost a 250k racecar while the other got maybe
20k in damage. I think they will take that into consideration on their next race.

Sure, they get a year free of racing expenses to improve their finances.

I don't consider myself an expert and reviewing video and finding fault, but I blame the leading car for this 100 percent. The red car had him for a clean pass and he veered left when there was no reason to. The preferred line on that stretch of Road America is on the right side. There was no reason to veer left other than sheer douche-baggery.

We have lots of different camera angles on this one. It seems clear to me.

Even if the racing line is indeed off to the right... There's still nothing to say the leading car can't apex there if he wants to.

    Thus the "douche bagger" clause.
