Wish it used a different donor motor, something that sounded fittingly "racey" at high rpms... really cool for the cost factor, wonder where its performance lands it in terms of lap times...

Billy Johnson races (or raced) against them in the Continental Tire Series, so he may have some insight on this.

My ill-informed guess is that their reliability will be an inverse function of their boost.

Think of the biggest, most catastrophic failures you've seen at the track. Now close your eyes. What kind of car do you see?

OK, when I close my eyes, I see a Subaru engulfed in a cloud of steam and smoke. I have nothing against the cars, but those are the cars I've seen go kaboom most often.

These actually have been for sale since summer. When I called in November, they were taking orders but told me they were a year behind.

The articles below also indicate that that Motor "Authority" needs a little more editorial control.

$12K for the kit, a 2006 WRX as a donor car, and 250 hours of labor by a competent race car builder (I am not one).

I'd rather just spend the big bucks on a new Cayman S.
