Default Ever seen women split up a restaurant check?

    Obviously not track-related, but I think funny . . .

I have noticed that women who dine out together spend an inordinate amount of time and effort to figure out who owes what on the restaurant check. Tonight I saw the epitome of this. I went into a local Mexican bar and grill by myself, just to grab some dinner and a drink. I sat at the bar.

While I was looking at the menu, ordering, and waiting for my food to be delivered in a very busy place that was packed to the rafters with customers, there were two women sitting next to me. They were obviously drunk. When the check arrived, they spent -- I SWEAR -- over half an hour going through the most complicated calculus you can can imagine to decide who should pay how much. "Oh, didn't you have that appetizer? I ordered a single Margarita, but you had a double? How much should we tip? I'm not worried about the sales tax. I'll give you cash and you put in on your card?" It was unbelievable.

Guys are different. We go out for dinner and drinks. One guy says, "how about we split it 50/50?" The other guy says "Nah, I'll pay this time and you pay next time." Done in 10 seconds . . .

Whenever I go out with an attorney friend, I make sure there is a written agreement before hand.

I don't always go out to dine, but when I do I make sure it's the best damn food I can get. Stay hungry my friends.

on a more serious note, I have a couple friends we have lunch and dinner as unit of currency. you just take turns, sometimes you get lucky and it's cheap, sometimes it's not, but it all evens out.

For sure. Women can spend more time simply picking out socks and underwear for their husbands than an average track session.

And - for god's sake - don't even mention place mats and linen napkins . . . there goes the afternoon(s)!

Nothing wrong with a woman wanting her man to look good...
Though, I've never really had that problem, being a Miata owner and all.

Understated elegance for the fashionable win.
