Default EV deals !! Fiat 500e.......

Fiat 500e deal as of August 2015

    $2,000 drive off
    $99 / month x 35 months
~$400 lease disposition fee at end of the lease (this is pretty normal)
    Desert Fiat at Victorville, 760/220-2613

yes, you still get the State rebate after this, this law was just changed last month. new detail:
if you make more than $250k per year (or $500k married), you get nothing.
middle income - you get a $2,500 State check in ~2 months
low income - you get a $4,000 State check in ~ 2 months

Wish I did not drive 30k miles per year. I would like something better to commute in. The mileage overage would be about $16k extra.

How far will one of these go on a charge? And how often do they check mileage on a lease?

How do you receive a check from the state anyhow? They just send it made out to you and you go deposit it into your account? Seems too good to be true...
    Do you understand?

if I would have seen this 2 weeks ago, I probably would have a 500e instead of used miata.

That's exactly how it is. I've bought / leased 5 EV (including 1 natural gas). You do have to send it in. Took between 1-2 months for me to get the check.

75 freeway miles in a charge (more if it is local).

In your case. It is cheaper to buy miles at lease. I think around 8 cents per mile.

I cannot possibly be understanding this.

$2000 (down) + 3,811.5 (payments) + $400 (lease disposition) - State Rebate buys you a car? Or, do you lose it at the end of the lease?

it is a lease, you don't own the car. after 36 months is up, you give the car back to Fiat (that's a good thing. no headache with getting rid of the car).
if you are lucky (or unlucky, depends on how you look at it). and is ~low income (I will look it up, but I think around $40k) with good credit. you pay a total of $2k - $3.8k - .4k + 4k = $1,800 to drive a car for 3 years. zero maintenance (it is an EV), first year DMV fee paid for (included in drive off), it doesn't get any cheaper than that.

you buy a $20,000 Kia, sales tax alone is more than that.

Install a charging station at your house and you may get an electric bill discount too. My buddy did this awhile back when there was a federal rebate on top of everything else. Great deal still. Car pays you to drive it if you factor in gas savings.
Only reason I didn't lease one is I enjoy driving my paid for e30. 500e top speed is 85 with a tail wind too. If you have separation between love of cars and daily commuter you can't beat this deal.

I'm in Seattle this weekend and my rental car is a Fiat 500 (the regular gas version). It's a good car! I'm surprised at how quick it is with plenty of freeway passing power. Definitely feels more zippy than a Mazda2. It's pretty nimble, too.

Yeah, it's pretty small inside and out and I wouldn't want to get in a collision with a pickup truck, but I think it'd make a good commuter and city car.

    Overall, I'm impressed.

One last thing: I can't help but smile every time I see these cars on the road now. Kind of a goofy, fun little car. It's the car version of a Boston Terrier dog!

I can assure you that 500 is pos compared to 500e. 500e has a much better weight distribution, much better torque and lower CG. Drives way better.

I love my FWD torque monster. Great commuter car, and girls dig em because it's "cute" and your saving the environment. Just don't tell them about the lifted diesel truck and race car that gets 2mpg on track.
