There's a Tesla dealer just a few blocks from my house, and I finally went over and sat in one a couple of weeks ago...and while it is very cool, I just can't see myself spending that kind of money on a car. Some day when I have real money I can not blink at the 100k pricetag, but right now, I just see myself rather having the Chevy Bolt/Tesla 3/Leaf Mk. II and doing a lot of racing. And if I could get my commute back to where I could do it all in the Volt's range, I'd probably just run it into the ground.

And if not a race car...add it to the fund for a used Prevost-based motorcoach...(dares to dream)

Add another 500e lease to the list... They were busy at San Diego Fiat today but they still got me out of there in about an hour.

another deal just popped up, for California.

Chevy Spark EV (327 lb/ft of torque, it used to be 400. but it was destroying tires)

zero drive off (after $2,500 State check in California) and $99 per month x 35 months. 36k miles total

if you have a GM card (I have), you can get even a better deal. as you can apply your GM card money (up to $3,500) towards payments.

I have a GM card with $2,500 in it. which would basically make this a zero drive off, $35 per month.

too bad I already own a Spark EV, or would of jumped on it.

I just picked up a 500e a few weeks ago through the Purist group. Also nice to know 50 bucks went to ROWW. Regardless, it was too cheap to pass and I was looking for a new commuter car anyway. Thank you guys for paying for it. Car is super fun to drive actually. Everyone that I've had drive it can't stop giggling.

    Interesting article...

Credit to Fiat for being the fun one. How Italian of the company, taking a government mandate and bouncing it back with orange-pinstriped wheels, body stripes, and a steering wheel trimmed in red leather. Shows you what Italians think of government edicts: It’s an excuse for a party, for sprezzatura!

The Fiat drives well despite being about 500 pounds heavier than the comparable gasoline model. The extra tonnage improves the 500’s normally harsh ride, however, and it hangs in a corner, has fabulously firm brakes, and will easily spin an inside tire with its stout torque. The 500e was quickest through the slalom thanks to its racier Firestone tires, fast steering, and tight roll control. The largest battery, tied with the Leaf at 24.0 kWh, also produced the longest observed range if not the most frugal MPGe consumption figures.

But who worries about consumption when you’re partying?

Right now 7 of my track friends/antiquatices have one, not including myself... I never would of thought in a million years I'd be driving an electric Fiat 500. I was actually in the market for a gas guzzler, still am, but now it can sit during the week.
