    14 Spark EV, 400 ft/lb
    15 Fiat 500e EV, cute !!
    William -

Doesn't the cost of buying (or leasing) FOUR (count 'em -- 4!!!) electric cars more than wipe out the savings on gas from having an electric car as your daily driver?

It's a 3000 lb turd. It looks like a turd. I am sure it drives like a turd. A heavy, FWD turd at that. Anyone who buys one of these thinking it's going to be a fun car to drive (Abarth included) is a crackhead imo. There are so many better cars for the money.

Now back to William convincing me that this turd will at least save me money...

^^^ You must be clairvoyant. I have it on inside information that the next model in the Fiat 500 line will be called the "500 Turd." Shortly after that version goes on sale, Fiat will be releasing a limited-edition Sport model, the "500 Turd-S." Only five-hundred 500 TurdS will be built. Still, that's a lot of little Italian turds . . .

I don't see how it is possible to get ANY car for the money.

this deal, out of pocket in 3 years is:

    $89 (including tax) x 35 months
$300 registration x 2 years (first year is already included in the drive off) = $600
    $395 lease disposition fee

total is $4,110. this is less than most car's sales tax alone. I bet you can't buy ANY new car and drive for 3 years, 30k miles and lose less than this (including sales tax and registration). not even close

with 500e, you also get a $1,500 rental car credit, HOA access and not paying for fuel (electricity will almost always be cheaper).

driving an ICE car 30k miles, say you get 25MPG. that's $1,200 gallons of fuel used, x $3.50 / gallon. that's $4,200 already.............not including depreciation, registration, sales tax or maintenance (EV do NOT need any maintenance in 3 years)......

You can say you don't like the car,,, you can call it a turd... and it has some limits....But It can't think of a cheaper way to have a car.

I will say that for commuting, once you go electric you'll never go back. I hate when I have to run the gas engine/generator on my Volt, because I like the lack of engine noise and vibration on the commute.

I was primarily referring the Abarth when I said "There are so many better cars for the money", since it was raised as being a comparison for the 500e. I completely agree that this appears to be a fantastic deal and, for a NEW boring turd of a commuter, I do not know of anything that competes pricewise.

But the proper answer to any question of "what is the best car for the money?" is obviously S2000.

+1, for commuting, I never consider a gasoline powered car any more......every time I jump into one, it feels like driving in the 80s......

This. I had the Volt and now have the 500e. Not only do I not have to go to the gas station, but the 0rpm torque is awesome for in-city lane maneuvers.

    Next stop, P85D Tesla?!
