how do you like your Focus EV ? you leased 2, I assume you must like it.

btw. since this thread started, I got 2 more EVs. Spark EV and 500e

Spark EV: handles like crap, but with 400ft/lb of torque !!! 6,000 miles and I am in need of 2nd set of front tires.

500e: wifey's car, looks cute, handles good (53/47 weight distribution), low power (still faster than a Miata). but already got a mysterious "service charging system" warning 400 miles in. message went away a day later
    F*ing Fiat

Tesla P85D (D for dual motor, so AWD) now taking order (as of Oct 2014), it will do 0-60 in 3.1 sec, 1/4 mile in 11.8 sec. top speed of 155MPH. 275 miles range

0-60 in 3.1 sec is FASTER than a McLaren F1

There is also the upcoming VW eGolf that looks to be between the leaf and i3 in terms of pricing. 83 mile range, fast charge capable, listed estimated lease price of $300/month

Drove one, actually liked it. Almost leased it, but the lease on the Fiat was unbeatable.

Do I like the focus? Yep, that’s why I got the second one, LOL…
The Focus electric is based on the ICE focus, which is a pretty nice little car... I think I read somewhere they come down the same assembly line.

The electric focus different than the ICE focus in a few ways...
While it's heavy(+500#) it does not "feel" heavy. The weight distribution is actually very good(better than the ICE version)
0-15 is sad(I blame the computer),,, 15-70 is pretty good, there is a sweet spot 30-60 where it's really a pretty quick car.
Top speed is super frustrating 86mph (hit that every single day)
Space, other than the trunk being 1/2 size it's the same...
It’s just a nice little car that just happens to be electric.

I really like that it only comes one way; fully loaded(heated,leather/nav/sat radio for the entire lease), just pick your exterior color...

A few things about EV ownership that I didn't fully appreciate before I had one...

Charging is a non-issue if you have 220v...The 110 plug is a silly thing. just get a 220v and stop thinking about it.

"cabin pre-conditioning"... amazing feature,,, 95 outside, car sitting in sun,,, heading out to lunch get in the car everything in the car is 65, not just the air coming out of the vents... the seat actually gave me the chills... running a bunch of quick errands, just leave the car running.

Range, EPA says 76 miles, I have gotten under 60 and others have gotten over 85(internet people say they can get 100http://www.trackhq.com/forums/images/smilies/metallicblue.gif), it depending on how you drive, not as much as a gas car, and it’s backwards… Surprised me how much stop and go increases the range.

Cost of charging. One of the people at work got caught out on this. A few 23kWh charge-ups will be noticeable on your electric bill. Know your rates and do the math...

If you read William’s guild and your life works with it, it’s a great option…

2 friends just bought a couple of EV within last few weeks.

Focus EV - got it for $28,000 ($32k MSRP, with leather, base price is $30k), + tax / license. after $7,500 Federal tax credit and $2,500 California State check. that makes it a $18,000 car with leather. may be $16k for base model ?

2014 Chevy Volt - got it for $27,000 ($35k MSRP, base model), + tax / license. after $7,500 Federal tax credit and $1,500 (not 100% EV) California State check. that makes it a $17,000 car (do note newly designed 2016 Volt will be out soon)

Corolla money for EV, and with HOA access

I was gonna wait till I get the exact detail. but this is the deal I believe. last time the deal sold out in 2 days. so don't want to wait on this.

    ~$3,500 down
you get a $2,500 state check in 60 days
you get $1,000 off if you have Conquest cash
    so basically zero down

    $85 per month x 35 months
    10k miles per year x 3 years.
there is a ~$450 disposition fee at end of the lease.

Fiat 500e lease deal (CA & OR ONLY) ~$82/mon with as low as $0 down - Slickdeals.net

I'm considering this. What do I need to do in NorCal? Show up to a dealer and tell them I want this deal and they run my credit and give it to me?

since you are in NORCAL, I would ask Hakeem where his 10 friends are getting this deal at. plus Hakeem also own a 500e.

I am not sure where this 100 cars group buy is. just know it is a NORCAL thing, and most are racers...

At the Fremont dealer now. 82/mo is no longer offered. They sold 70 over the weekend.

98/mo, 3500 down. Same terms as before basically plus 15 /mo. 2 or 3 week waiting list to pick it up. Have to do paperwork this weekend but flyer says expires 3/31.
