Default East Coast Track Day Fees, CRAZY!!!

OK, so I've been in Florida for a few weeks now, and as an addict, I had to search out my new "pushers". You know you can search them out on the interwebs now, so one nite, while I was having a hard time getting to sleep, I headed to my office and locked the door behind me.

I knew I shouldn't have been doing what I was about to do, but we as "addicts" can get that itch at any time. Well, don't you know, my wife ran in and broke the door down (she's German) worried to death that something horrible had happen to her man. Well, it did, and it went something like this...

Me sobbing, "They want $375 a DAY to run at Sebring, sniff, sniff!" "That's a two-day and gas money and a chicken sammich and MAYBE a Gatoraide at Buttonwillow-with SPEEDVENTURES, for crying out loud!"

Well, my wife, being the caring, thoughtful soul she is, simply nuzzled up to me and held me-just held me till' the crying stop. Guess it's back to rehab!

Yo, looks like the east coast is riddled with these high cost HPDEs (R.A., Birmingham, AMP). I'm thinking, there needs to be a revolution like the one that occurred a few years ago in Cali.

...AND NO, honey-that's just asbestos on my nose-nothing to worry about!

Yeah, totally going the NASA direction, Brett! It's just a shame that some of these HPDE organizers are taking advantage of folks.

Evo, glad you liked. Had two cups of coffee, one right after the other!

Did you really just compare Sebring to Buttonwillow...?

Buttonwillow is no longer nearly as bumpy.

You should try going to Laguna Seca some time. Don't forget to add up the cost of a custom exhaust in addition to the registration fees...

I actually picked up a "solo lite" session with NCRC on Monday the 1st... three 20-minute sessions after lunch for $134 including PayPal fees.
Drive down in the morning. Hit the track to shake down the new suspension. Back home by dark.

Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Of course, stock exhaust doesn't hurt.

It's a 7 hour tow for those of us who live a stone's throw away from Mexico. We also have to drive through Los Angeles.

Seeing that Seth's engine has reached its expiration date (0 whp paperweight), I don't think exhaust noise is an issue anymore.

You know, you're right, Sebring is on a whole other level of bumpy compared to Buttonwillow! Now I can compare B.W. to A.M.P., HaHaHa! Maybe I should be comparing Sebring to....Hell, it's just the bumpiest track-period! There is no comparison! Seriously, if you want to compare "historical" tracks, Sebrings' got Laguna Seca beat by 100+/day!

i thank joel@xtremespeed for the local track day price drop, my first couple track days with other local So. Cal promoters were $200+ now anyone who can put $100+/- together gets a shot.. that can be good, and of course very bad sometimes.. but, for me its been a good way to learn...

If he's that far away from the boarder (Chula Vista? San Ysidro?) then it shouldn't be very hard to find one.
I mean. American's are all the rage down there, right?

I suspect the situation in Florida is similar to most of the country. I've seen high track day costs in the northeast and northwest parts of the country.

We have it good here in SoCal. In fact, I'm doing a track day with Extreme Speed at Streets of Willow this Sunday for $95. How do you beat that?
