I've been there. The track and the karts are good, but the atmosphere needs alot of work.

K1 opened a new track in Anaheim. Anyone been to it yet?

I've never been to K1 cos I know they don't have gas powered karts, but their track looks good~

I've been thinking about doing the Jim Hall Kart Racing School. They have their own outdoor track and everything. Although more expensive, I feel I'd get more out of that kind of experience than a small indoor track. You can only do their arrive and drive racing series after you have completed two days of lessons, but maybe that is a good thing

What was the track some of you went to earlier in the year that I missed?

    My point exactly

I want something I can get some vehicle control experience from. I really didn't enjoy my time at Dromo 1 when I went there. Seemed like luck of the draw if you had a car with absolutely no grip that cornered like crap or a car that was setup halfway decently.

See my post about Dromo 1 at the bottom of this page:

It was Moran Raceway in Beaumont. It would be cool to get another event going out there - maybe after the holidays... mid January?

Jim Hall is a blast. I've done their karting school before. Highly recomended. Its not the spur of the moment $25 type thing thought that the indoor places are.

I've never been to Moran but would totally be up for it.

I liked the Moran track the last time. They have their own little Corkscrew. However, I didn't like the rentals they have. Yes, I was a newbie. But to blame me for not knowing how the apply the throttle (saying I flooded the carb) but in fact they gave me a messed up kart was not good. Wasted at least half an hr of my paid track time. And on my last session, the knuckle on the right steering arm broke, caused me another ten minutes there.

I still up for a Mid Jan meet there though.

They didn't give you any credit for the time their cart broke on you?

I tried, but nope. The guy even test drove the kart and agreed it was bogging.

indoor karting is just for fun and for friends gathering related to motorsports!

yah, the real fun is 2-stroke racing karts!

i think rental karts suck at any places since they are rental karts!

if we r going out next time, make sure we have them go test drive every kart before they give us the track time!!

we can actually get our own track for half day like this

    http://moranraceway.com/pages/corporate.html

i think it's a better deal than renting hourly, especially we can format our own events for half day exclusively

Cool, so if I read this right, if we get ten or more people, it is only $100 each for a half day?

Been there.. I like Gas better.... The Elec have a lot of TQ. so is easier to drive for beginner.... so that make different between EXP and novice driver's time gap smaller.... Because on GAS power car. you need to really think about Power Brand. cant just floor it. but on the Elec one you dont really to think about that....
