Hey guys sorry I did not remember my password and someone told me on FB I should come here and pitch in

So I picked up this C7 Z51 2 month ago . It is an LT1 package with no magnetic ride . Bone stock runflats 300 tread wear PsS ( completely truly fully stock ) it did a 1:57.1 at speedventures corvette challenge the second day the track was repaved .

After talking with the the track peoples , and the formula car guys at BW , the track did pick up some speed , not at places you would normally think of tho .. But realistic # is 0.3 to 0.75 sec on street tires is what I believe the track picked up in time from the repaving. ( base this on Jagger's new AWD record and it matches this opinion and base this that a full formula car did a 1.237 sec faster lap time on the new repaving with a pretty experienced on this track driver ..)

With Pensky 2 way ( temporarily ) and kooks headers and xpipe ( installs done by Platteforme ag ) and a mild tune from Cunningham Motorsport , on the same set of tires in a pretty hot day ( yes it was early but the track is super dusty seems like with this new repaving story ..) we did a 1:54.1 .

Now I'm going back next week for corvette challenge this time on a used set of 18*10.5 RS3 . And I m expecting good setup needs .

Nevertheless the car is insane . Insane !!

Ok now the fun part , I'm not an old guy ( all tho I have white hairs I'm 34 .)
I did have many cars and track them almost all ( GTRs , GT3RS , E92 s etc ...) and they are all amazing in their own ways .

I do not wear golden gloves with a golden chain , in fact I'm an M guy at heart so I still wear my BMW M gloves on track while driving the C7.

I post my updates and mods on the car on IG : Rifster_Rif , do not hesitate to see what's up as the car become slowly but surely a street class car for November . I have a goal on street tires that I set myself and I'm trying to work hard toward it .

Any other questions about the car fire away but I , honestly , would never ever have thought I would buy a Vette . We have a saying in French that makes me feel bad about Vettes since I was a kid , still , I respect things for what their realities are , and GM did a phenomenal job with this car , I give the credit where it's due .

Thanks for the props but I give the speed of the car credit to the dedicated peoples at Platteforme ag and Ryne .

The PSS is a very quick tire. Not sure how much slower the runflats are but eager to see the difference between the RF and the RS3s...

Just for reference on SMMP's 2.2 mile course we are about 2.5 seconds slower in the C7 compared to the ZR1. No modifications on OEM tires.
With a C7 being a cake walk to get to that time while in the ZR1 you are working A LOT harder.

Don't hold your breath. 2:07 is on the blistering fast side of lap times for most of us vette drivers.

so thought i should update here .. after testing sizes.. and doing the rnd , on 18 inch square, on 20/19 over sided , i could not find a happier medium in terms of times on the car than being with the stock factory sizings.. i dont know why . coming from the M background, we always run 18 square.. well the same exact day that i put a set of RS3 18*10.5 , i ran a 1:57.2 ( slower than fully stock ) then 2 min after, switched back to stock size factory runflats PSS and ran on the same old as **** scrubs a 1:54.5 .. so for supperlap battle i sticked to those sizes.. we ended up winning the Street Class RWD and broke the evasive motorsport record by doing a 1:51.08 . I m still not confortable as much as i m in an M car in the vette.. so theirs much more time in the car.. Next year planning on sticking in street class and lowering that record way more.. as i gain seat time.. keeping the car full interior and working on modififying some lift area issues in the front of the car.. working with a company in san diego called Singularmotorsports .. thats how the car looks like right now .. also dont forget to follow the cool pics from the Socal Photographers that capture some cool moments of the cars i m running 10620157_738513789562023_110415048707495295_o.jpg IG: Rifster_Rif

    Rif,

Great job. I am still unlcear on what exact tires you did the 1:51 on.
    Model of tire?
    width and aspect ratio?
    Wheel diameter?

Yup. Same tires the new C7 Z06 is available with and part of why it is so fast despite being a bunch heavier than the C6.

The special Pirelli Trofeo R's on the new Z28 Camaro are even gummier. Full race tires (60tw) with some tread basically.

I heard the Trofeo feels like a R6. I'm looking forward to hearing from more people using them.
