    Some possible diesel focused innovations for performance cars:

    and background on the Mercedes diesotto technology, which apparently has been in discussion/development since at least 2007 - compression ignition during low power output, spark ignition for high power:

    So, does that mean this isn't news? I'm kind of grateful none of this ever happened. A Z car with a diesel. Pfff.
