Nice stop frame on our car at T25. I really love being associated with Mazda an everything that means. They're a passionate car company and "get" racing.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.
But obviously I just dont get it. -fatbillybob

That a few of the front runners in the NASA Spec Miata field at ACS work for Mazda demonstrates that racing passion is integral to the corporate culture. Pretty cool.

This is honestly half the reason I got another RX7.

    That was the other half.

I dig Mazda as a company but feel luke warm about their current and recent lineup. When I was looking for a car to eventually convert to a race car back in '07 it was between a Miata and MRS. If Mazda made a mid-engine car I would be all over it. The MRS would be gone in a second.

    Sure, 'technically'.
This is what I tell people who bring it up (and they are typically dead serious). If you look at a shopping cart anything you can fit inside of it is between the front and rear wheels, perfectly simulating a 'mid engine' layout no matter where you place items. Go get six 12-packs of soda and stack them in the front then go race the cart around the store. Then move that stack of pop to the back of the cart and do the same thing. Then come back and tell me all 'mid-engine' is the same.

Disclaimer: The S2000 was actually my first choice of car, but it was a bit out of my price range when I was looking. I don't really lust for them anymore, but only because I am so satisfied with what I have. The MR2 is a hell of a lot of fun, even if it's slower than... everything.

Definitely are. The engine is extremely far back. When I did a 13B-RE swap in my RX8 years ago the challenge was that the stock RX8 intake manifold comes forward then upwards to avoid the firewall, that's how far back the engine is mounted.

And Toyota's lineup is/was better in 07? The reason I have a Miata is the same reason they make great club race cars, they're fun, cheap and easy to maintain.

How does Toyota support the club racer(genuinely asking)?

Haha, Toyota has not had a good lineup since the 90's and I doubt they ever will again unless they release another MR2 while the GT86 is still in their lineup. Besides maintaining the TRD line of products, I don't think Toyota does anything for the enthusiast or club racer.

I have had 3 rotary powered cars and I managed to blow up motors in two of them and had a accident in the FC. all of them were fun.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?

I don't think anyone comes even close to providing the support that Mazda does, at least at this level. The entire Mazdaspeed parts program is awesome, and they seem to pay out pretty well in terms of contingencies for SCCA/NASA. You even get invoice/cheap pricing on new Mazda cars through the racing program.

I see that Honda has their Honda Racing thing that they are getting more serious about, and Nissan Motorsports has a pretty decent parts program.
