Default A Contender for Ugliest New Car

Front to rear, top to bottom, weirdly overstyled.

    How do these things happen?

Lexus lineup in general looks terrible. They need to start all over.

I don't dislike it. The basic shape and profile is very aesthetically pleasing. Too many cuts though. Actually, these vertical cuts partitioning the front bumper is a fad that needs to die before it happened, and Toyota/Scion is the worst offender of this bull ****.

Consumer and user experience research. Lexus is trying to appeal to the Millennial and Digital From Birth Generations.

    Interesting thought, "Digital from Birth".

Born in '83, I'm digital from birth, more or less, and I think both of those look incredibly stupid.

I think the Porsche Panamera still holds the "that car manufacturer hit that car with an ugly-stick" award, given its price and the large number of units sold. The new Lexus prototype needs to make it to market before it can be considered as an ugly-contender . . .

Granted that Lexus "whatever it is" is way ugly. And the Panamera looks like a pregnant 911.

But my nominee for ugliest production car is another product of Toyota Motor Corporation, the Toyota Mirai fuel cell powered thing. At least production volume is constrained by it being handbuilt by only 13 workers. So I may never have to see one live.

Is there LSD being pumped into the water at Toyota HQ?

You seriously need new glasses if you think a Panamera is uglier than anything currently offered by Lexus.

Top photo looks like a golf cart with a kit car body and 18 inch wheels.

. . . and an oversized sidewalk grate on the front end.
