The Rock. The car chase scene is crazy. Good story line also.

Car movies are unsually kind of like watching porn. Fast forward through the dialog and plot and get to the action .

Senna is but one exception though I still can't watch the ending. If you get a chance pick up this book:

Ayrton Senna: The Whole Story: Christopher Hilton, Rainer Schlegelmilch: 9781844250967: Amazon.com: Books

and then watch the movie. Its gotten crazy expensive lately but is one of the best motorsports books I have read. Loads of anecdotes that are documented in the movie and many that are not. The movie is MUCH more interesting after reading this book. If you were not a Senna fan before you will be after reading this.

to add to Mark's comments, if you haven't listened to the director's commentary (which is really the three core folks in making the film: Asif Kapadia, Manish Pandey and Jim Rees), it's well worth it. They also relate a lot of information that had to be cut from the film to get the running time down...

As a teenager I've been(and still am) a great fan of the Cannonball Run,#3 especially.

So sad that James Garner passed away over the weekend. He was quite the guy: Carpet layer, actor, remarkably good driver, and team owner.

Good old Brett Maverick . . . the "original" professional poker player who.

Hit and run is a car guy movie. Has a good line about nitrous and has Kristen Bell in it so that's a positive too.

I have a unique story about Days of Thunder movie.

My wife and I went to a "premier" showing when it first came out (1980 ish). They had one of the cars from the movie there outside of the theatre and were doing a contest to see who could do the fastest pit stop on it.

The stop consisted of checking and calling out the air pressure of all 4 tires, washing the windshield and something else.

Being 6'-7" I was able to wash the windshield from one side w/o having to run to the other side, and going last I simply pretended to check the tire pressures and repeated the numbers that I had been hearing. LOL

The "grand prize" was a really cool leather jacket, with all of the sponsor patches from the movie on it and signed across the back by Tom Cruise. I gave the jacket to my wife and she still wears it to car shows and such today.

I will say that the sound in Days of Thunder is awesome -- but it does require being in a true dolby theater environment. The movie itself...well... not so much.

With all due respect... that's like saying aids is second only to cancer... That being said... Top Gun is an epic movie.
