Default Car insurance.. how much do you pay?

I think I'm getting hosed by GMAC insurance.. Myself and others would probably be interested in what we on here pay monthly for our beater cars as well as nice cars.

    How's this format?

    - Age

    - Car

    - $/month

    I'll start:

    - 24

    -2007 BMW 328i

    -$220/month

(My cheap old 1999 Mazda Miata used to be $190/month as well for full coverage. )

I'm 24 and I think I paid about $400 for 1 year of minimal liability + uninsured motorist on my 2004 Civic Si. It's paid off, and if the .000001% chance that I total it actually happens, I'm ok with that. An insurance company would probably give me ~$5k for it so I see no need to pay for comprehensive coverage.

Oh f-me! The lizard is doing me dry to the tune of $2000 a year for full coverage. Maybe it's the 3 points from 2 years ago.

I insure 4 cars (Evo, S2K, Mustang and Toyota Sequoia). Three drivers including my 20-year old daugther, who is a college student. She has an accident and a ticket on her record. I have one ticket too.

How much do I pay? I can't tell you because you don't want to see a grown man cry.

"full coverage" is a fairly vague statement. Can you guys be more specific as to the exact coverages you have?

    Geico
4 vehicles: '09 GT-R (me, 45), '09 335i (wife), '08 Focus (daughter 22), '98 Ram (me, for occasional Home Depot runs, fishing trips, etc.). The first three vehicles are about 10 to 15k miles per year.

Full coverage on all with 1 mil/3mil, $500 deductible for comp and collision, roadside assistance.

My Wife and I have no tickets or accidents. My Daughter had one accident that was deemed her fault by an arbitrator, but my insurance company disagreed and did not raise our rates because of it.

$278/month for 10 monthly payments per year, so $2780 per year.

I ended up with a large window crack on the GT-R, too large to glue. $50 to replace with OEM Nissan glass.

Very smart to have high insurance coverage limits. You never know when you might get unlucky and hit an old lady in a Bugatti. I mean it. If you have assets, you need a lot of insurance.

    Default Insurance

I read the policy with GMAC and they exclude coverage on an accident that occurs on any facility designed for motorsports racing. "No coverage on track days or facilities designed for that".

I read AAA and they only exclude coverage on timed competitions. Not necessariily on race tracks so it would likely be a fight but you might have coverage on track day accidents if you were not being timed.
