    Default Cadillac reveals GT3-spec twin-turbo V6 ATS-V.R

"As we looked at what we wanted to do going forward as a brand, there's no secret we're trying to grow Cadillac on a global basis and a GT3-spec racecar would give us options and flexibility. Obviously, with the influx of GT3 cars in Pirelli World Challenge and some of the advantages that those bring, we thought to stay on that competitive curve, it was time to make a change."

Nothing like the sound of the V8, it's a little uncivilized but it gets the job done.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?

Very cool. Now with paddle shifters. Air to water intercooler is interesting and I wonder why they went that route.probably aero and packaging more than performance. Viva Caddy!

On a related note and sorry for the drift.. if Cadillac can build a fleet of 30 customer cars, then why can't Chevy with the C7R? I know GM has specific rationalizations for not offering the C5R/C6R and now C7R in customer versions but I still think that decision is erroneous.

Agreed! We need more factory racecars like the GT3 Cup but at affordable levels. I still have heard nothing about the BMW 2 series spec racecar that was supposed to be consumer available.

This desire and complaint of GMs lack of a publicly available CxR racecar is lamented frequently on the Corvette Racing Forum.

Beautiful car with a genuine link between the race car and the production car. I drove an ATS sedan with the twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6. That motor is for real.

It sure would be cool to see that car in the Blancpain series, ripping around the track with Astons and Benzes.

"carbon fiber custom-molded cool seat and competition driver air conditioning system"

Luxurious to the bone, even in competition form.

Most top tier closed cockpit racing series require A/C these days.

Nice. And you gotta give it to Cadillac for continuing to offer a manual gearbox in the 2015 CTS-V Coupe street version . . .

Agreed! And you gotta hand it to Caddy for squarely aiming right at the BMW M3/4. I am a huge BMW M3/4 fan and thinking of buying one, but there is no question I could be swayed by a hot caddy.
