I remember when it was under a $1 and was sold next to "regular" which was leaded.

^^^ I remember when gas was 39¢ per gallon. Until they had a "Gas War!" Then the price went down to 29¢ per gallon.

My dad, who was born in 1921, once told me that when he first started driving, gas in his town was 7 gallons for $1. They used to drive to the nearby bigger town to buy gas, because it was 9 gallons for $1 there. No kidding. This would have been in the late 1930s.

Isn't this what they did a year ago when it was under 3.00. It shot up to 4.00 then came down to 2.94. Then back to 3.10, 3.25. But it doesn't feel so bad as paying 4.00. So we were ok with it.
    Maybe I'm just getting old.

That's actually what you should see in trending system with significant % of noise...

If you look back at the data and draw a hard line at just about any price point... you would see it shoot past it for a brief period, then back under and slowly go back over the line in a gradual way.

Yeah, as one of the top selling parts guys, I used to work with, told me. If a part cost seems a bit high. He would say, OMG it's like 379.99 for that part. Oh wait. I'm sorry. I was looking at the wrong line. It's only 240.00. Sill not good. But way better then 380.
It seem to work out good for him.

Enjoy it for the next couple of days, I'm guessing prices will rise a little by next weekend in time for holiday travel.

I haven't seen <$3.60 around here but did buy gas at <$3.40 last week in OR and they pump it for you there.

$3.05 near the RTP and UNC here in Raleigh. $3.30 for 93.

Had to go to Charlotte for some business this week. Just over the border in SC, gas was $2.89 for 87, $3.05 for 93. 100 was $3.45
