CNC irvine was canceled due to too many people in such a small space.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?

He's really lucky he missed that pole on the right. Or else BAM totaled. Missed it by 4-5ft.

But still cleared the median and good height. That's impressive.

I believe the 1M weighs about 3400 lbs., just like 3-series cars of the same ilk. That is just stupid. Why can't BMW make a high performance sports car that weighs under 3000 lbs.?

A car on a racetrack does 3 things. Accelerate, turn, and brake. More hp only helps with one - acceleration. Less weight helps with all 3 . . .

It looks like the new Z06 and M3/4's are marketed to us as capable track cars. They really are bloated "tanks" for our lame streets. If the M4 owner is to be believed that he has only cosmetic damage for jumping 2-3ft off the ground dukes of hazzard style, I would say the BMW is pretty darn tough and all that mass in the chassis is the reason for that toughness. I remember reading about Lotus exiges that would run over a 2x4 or similar and bend the frames totaling the cars! Part of the reason Lotus has or will stop importing to the USA is meeting safety issues which add weight and violate the Lotus philosophy.

The real irony is that the new M models have one hell of a sophisticated traction control which even in the middle settings will make the driver look like a hero on the street and the track.New M3/M4 is definitely a handfull to drive with all that torque, not for everybody with the TC off.But that what happens if you can just enter in a dealership with your credit card and get out with 450,550 or 707hp car. That wont be the last video of this type we are watching. There will be more drama when many of these new "supercar" owners start to crash on the tracks.
FBB,you nailed it like always I dont know for the other cars, but the modern BMW have most of their mass in the structure. On my X5,all single parts are lighter(and of course less reliable) than the previous model and the tank still weights 700-800 lbs more.My wife's Z4 hardtop convertible feels more robust than E36 sedan, but weights close to 4000 lbs.

There's nothing in the current BMW lineup that does anything for me.
It just looks like a giant mess, as if they are trying to fill every niche with something, even if that niche barely exists.. I'm almost surprised that they don't make a lifted Z4 wagon.

Big HP car manufacturers need a button that says "burn rubber"

Most drivers can't handle the power without TC BUT they need TC off to burn rubber. So a semi TC setting that let you burn rubber without crashing

Vette has it. TC and AH are separate. TC off is the burn rubber switch.
